The Congressman says about the massive spying: "There is nothing nefarious going on here", but his assessment is based on lies of government officials.

`Presstitutes` and Spies

President Obama has charged more government employees under the provisions of the antiquated 1917 Espionage Act than all of his predecessors combined.

(MANAMA, Bahrain) - Edward Snowden Some media pundits have used the terms "whistleblowers” and “traitors” synonymously.

Much of the recent status of whistleblowers has arisen out of the difference in the handling of Edward Snowden by both the mainstream media and the fairer columnists writing on the internet and the local press outside of America.

Venezuela Raises Profile by Offering Edward Snowden Asylum

President Maduro has stated publicly that Venezuela will provide asylum to Mr Snowden for humanitarian reasons.

(CARACAS World Review) - Venezuelan President Maduro THE SPY novels of author John Le Carre are nothing compared with the antics involving former US National Security Agency worker Edward Snowden - who has been leaking secrets - and Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro.

Mr Snowden, 30, known as ‘the leaker’, divulged top secret work of the NSA in mass surveillance operations with the British government and in spying missions on European governments in a series of exposes in June 2013. He was charged with espionage and theft of government property by the US.

Journalism is an Act, Not a Profession

Government already holds the cards. It is so big and powerful, so secretive and arrogant that we ought not to hobble efforts by reporters and bloggers to expose its dealings.

(SACRAMENTO, CA) - Who is a journalist? Watching some recent debates about who is a “real journalist” and who isn’t has been a source of amusement for me given that being a real journalist has not always been that great of an honor.

When I told Mom I was getting a job in journalism, she was miffed that her son would waste a decent education on such a low-rent pursuit.

A Blanket of Fear (A Play in One Act)

There are no hard distinctions between what is real and what is unreal, nor between what is true and what is false. A thing is not necessarily either true or false; it can be both true and false. — Harold Pinter

(MANAMA, Bahrain) - Netanyahu and Obama on the phone Netanyahu (N) and Obama (O) are on the phone:

N: I want you to catch that schmuck Snowden, lock him up and silence him.

O: Why Ben? He's another whistle blower like Manning and Assange. How does he affect you?

UK`s Channel 4 Schools US Media on How to Cover NSA, Snowden

The fusion of Corporate News and the US Government (with its Deep State) is so complete that questioning the Beltway Bandits is out of the question any more.

(WASHINGTON DC) - Snowden This report by Channel 4 News in the UK, covering Edward Snowden’s application for asylum in the Russian Federation and his revelations of collaboration between Microsoft and the National Security Agency struck me as everything that US “news” coverage is not.

The reporters don’t just parrot the Washington line.

A Brief Comment on Snowden and the NSA Surveillance Program

If the American public is shocked at the NSA Surveillance Program, then they haven't been paying attention.

(SAN FRANCISCO) - NSA Whistleblower Edward Snowden Much, maybe too much, has been reported on Edward Snowden's leaking of classified information, the NSA Surveillance Program, and Snowden's desperate attempts to find asylum. I would just add a brief comment.

In my view Edward Snowden is neither a hero nor a villain. He broke the law as an act of conscience. As a result of his act of civil disobedience, he will probably spend his life in exile.

`Collaborators and Traitors`

Collaborators and traitors learn their 'craft' during childhood.

(TASMANIA, Aust.) - Obama and Manning Some people have accused Bradley Manning and Edward Snowden of being traitors. But this obscures a deeper and more important question.

If the US government is engaged in endless acts of lawless violence, as the documentary evidence clearly demonstrates, then it is not Manning and Snowden who are the traitors for providing evidence of this violence and the surveillance necessary to carry it out.
