West Linn Home Heavily Damaged by Fire‏ (PHOTOS)

Firefighters credit neighbors for helping a fire engineer stretch fire hose down the block to the closest hydrant.

(WEST LINN, Ore.) - An early morning fire caused extensive damage to a home located at 1913 Sunburst Terrace in West Linn today. Crews from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, Lake Oswego Fire & Rescue, and Clackamas County Fire District 1 responded.

Walt Peck, Public Information Officer with Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, says Engine 58 from the Bolton Station in West Linn was first on scene.

Woman Gives Birth on Side of Oregon`s I-205 Freeway (AUDIO)

West Linn Police respond to I-205 south on an emergency child birth.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Salem-News.com There was a different type of excitement on Interstate-205 around 3:45 this morning when a woman went into labor in a car moving down the freeway.

West Linn Police Spokesman Sgt. Neil Hennelly, says officers Pat McConnell and Ed Friend received a call from dispatch of a motorist having a baby on I-205 south near the Stafford Road interchange. "The officers arrived within 3 minutes, however Olivia Grace had already been born," Hennelly said.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue arrived a short time later and checked out the child and her mother. Both were transported to Meridian Park Hospital, and they are doing fine. Hennelly says they were headed for the birthing center near Meridian Park.

Bleacher Collapse at Oregon Grade School Leaves Six Children Injured

The sixth-graders were on the bleachers getting ready to have their class photo taken.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - Bleachers packed with 50 kids collapsed at 10:15 AM this morning at the West Union Elementary School in Hillsboro. Six children reportedly suffered injuries that are considered non-life-threatening.

Sgt. Dave Thompson with the Washington County Sheriff's Office, says a criminal investigation was started by Sheriff's deputies after they learned that some of the supports that are used to hold up the bleachers had been stolen.

Willamette Falls Locks Closes For The Season Saturday

The locks are the oldest continuously operating multiple lift lock system in America and serves to transport river traffic past the 40-foot Willamette Falls.

(WEST LINN) - Willamette Locks The Willamette Falls Locks will end its summer operating season at 5:00 PM, Saturday, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced Tuesday.

Extended operation of the locks this summer was made possible through a Challenge Partnership Agreement between the Department of the Army and Oregon Department of Transportation.
