(SALEM, Ore.) - 40 years ago, on November 10, 1975, the Edmund Fitzgerald sank in Lake Superior. This two score anniversary commemorates the ship, an ore carrier, which went down in a November storm, taking all 29 crew members to their graves.

The one-and-a-half year old toddler, Ali Saad Dawabsha, died after sustaining serious burns when a firebomb was thrown through the window near his bed while he slept. It was 3 a.m., all the family was asleep and defenseless.
