Oregon Justice League Files Legalization Justice Act of 2020

This may serve as a model for other states to implement a more just version of cannabis legalization.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Justice Act of 2020 “Patients, renters, the poor, people of color and women are still marginalized for their cannabis use, despite legalization,” said Martinez.

Chief Petitioners Madeline Martinez, Leia Flynn and Angela Bacca filed the Legalization Justice Act of 2020 at the Oregon State Capitol on Monday, March 18. All three women are longtime West Coast cannabis advocates.

Teens Report Using Cannabis Less Often After Legalization

Teens who work 11+ hours a week use more often than non‑working teens.

(SPOKANE, Wash.) - cannabis According to a WSU study, marijuana (cannabis) use went down significantly among 8th and 10th graders after legalization, and among 12th graders who didn’t work. It stayed nearly even for high school seniors who work less than 11 hours per week.

No matter what grade the students were in, those who worked 11 or more hours per week reported using marijuana more often than their non‑working peers.

(LINN COUNTY, Ore.) - Joshua Nelson According to Linn County Sheriff Jim Yon, deputies saw a person run into the residence and a person laying in the driveway when they arrived at the location.

74-year old Robert Nelson spoke to deputies outside the residence. He told deputies that his grandson, 22-year old Joshua Elbert Nelson, was the person who ran inside the residence.

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - Shawn Dooley Shawn Dooley, a former Oregon FFA State Officer and American FFA Degree recipient, will serve as the first CEO of Oregon FFA. Dooley begins work on March 18 and will manage the Oregon FFA Association, Oregon FFA Foundation, and Oregon FFA Alumni—three entities that have previously operated independently but with parallel aims.

For his part, Dooley believes the CEO position allows him to return to his FFA roots and to his degree in agricultural education from OSU.

Rep. Omar`s Comments and the House Failure to Debate U.S.-Israeli Relations

Why does Israel "need" so much U.S. support?

(SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.) - Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) recently suggested that House supporters of Israel have dual allegiances. Her comments caused a furor. Whether her comments were anti-semitic is debatable. Ideally, this uproar was an excellent opportunity for a long overdue debate on our one-sided U.S foreign policy toward Israel. Instead, the House passed a resolution condemning anti-Semitism and other bigotry.

I fear this resolution will result in a chilling effect on legitimate speech activity. All criticism of Israel is not anti-Semitic.
