Khader Adnan Is A Requested Palestinian Gandhi; Yet They Saw Him Not

Three of mainstream media’s major pundits have yet to address the Khader Adnan story.

(CHICAGO) - Khader Adnan Khader Adnan has reached an agreement with the Israeli military authorities. He promises to end his hunger strike, but only if Israel guarantees to give him back his freedom April 17.

Israel blinked, saying, in effect, “Yes, you may go free April 17, four months after we put you in prison without charges. Your administrative detention will end and you may return to your wife and two daughters.”

Above-Normal Number of Tornadoes Expected in 2012

Whether tornadoes hit highly populated areas like they did last year is harder to pinpoint.

(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - Water temperatures in the Gulf of Mexico are running above normal for this time of year. AccuWeather.com reports following a near-record number of tornadoes in 2011, an active severe weather season with above-normal tornadoes is expected in 2012.

There were 1,709 tornadoes in 2011, falling short of the record 1,817 tornadoes set in 2004. In comparison, the average number of tornadoes over the past decade is around 1,300.

Merkley Denounces Senate Amendment that Attacks Women`s Health Care

This amendment is being offered to the Senate transportation bill and is expected to be voted on in the U.S. Senate next week.

(PORTLAND, OR) - US capitol Oregon’s Senator Jeff Merkley gathered with women’s health advocates today to denounce a Senate amendment that would deny health insurance coverage to women.

It applies to birth control and any essential, preventive health care service if a woman's employer has a religious or moral objection.

Monk Sentenced to Death After 50 Years

In 1962 a monk was sentenced to death over the assassination of former Prime Minister S.W.R.D Bandaranaike.

(COLOMBO, Sri Lanka) - Gavel A Buddhist monk has been sentenced to death by the Tangalle Magistrate over the murder of a farmer. Another suspect was also given the death sentence over the murder of the farmer by the Tangalle Magistrate today.

This is the first time that a monk has been sentenced to death since 1962, the Magistrate had said.
