Staples locations in Oregon have no problem obeying similar state breastfeeding law.

(WASHINGTON DC) - Nursing mom Oregon’s Senator Jeff Merkley and Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) wrote to Tom Stemberg, CEO of Staples Inc. over his recent public statements about the “Reasonable Break Time for Nursing Mothers” breastfeeding provision in the health care reform law.

Unpaid “reasonable break time” and a private place to express milk do not equate to a need for 'lactation chambers'.

Senate Approves Help for Struggling Senior Homeowners

HB 4039 modifies Senior and Disabled Property Tax Deferral Program.

(SALEM) - Aerial view of the Oregon capitol by Tim King Salem-News.com Lawmakers in Oregon have approved legislation providing some vulnerable seniors and disabled homeowners more time to remain on the Senior and Disabled Property Tax Deferral program.

In order to protect the solvency of the program, changes were made in 2011 that reduced the number of qualified participants by half, but left many disqualified homeowners with sudden tax bills that they were unprepared to pay.
