Outspoken perennial candidate Louis Gatewood Galbraith dies

The charismatic politician believed we could change the world for the better.

(FRANKFORT, Ky.) - Gatewood Galbraith Louis Gatewood Galbraith died today, 4 January. Loved and admired by both family and a large circle of friends, this American lawyer and author from the U.S. state of Kentucky was a five-time candidate for Governor.

Mr. Galbraith has been an outspoken proponent of education and also privacy rights and other civil liberties. In his most recent race, he was defeated as the Independent candidate for Governor in the 2011 general election, Wikipedia explains.

Rwanda: Attack with grenades near a market in Kigali

The spokesman of the police, Theos Badege told Reuters that a single grenade was responsible for this tragedy.

(KIGALI, Rwanda) - Police investigate scene of grenade attack in Nyabisindu district of Kigali. 20 people were injured on the evening of Tuesday, January 3 in a grenade attack near an outdoor market of vegetables and fruits being at Nyabisindu in Gasabo District, close to the Stade Amahoro Kigali.

Among the 20 injured, two of them would have died in the meantime, according to a diplomatic source who nevertheless remains to be confirmed by the police, we are told the correspondent on the spot from Reuters, Graham Holliday on his Twitter account.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - John Brown If being kidnapped from one's home or on the street by some agency of the government, imprisoned and prevented from having a hearing or trial, no opportunity to see or hear evidence or to rebut it, and no time limit on this imprisonment, how can this not be considered slavery?

Is not that exactly what black Africans faced in earlier centuries--indefinite detention without time limit?
