Why Not Stay on Daylight Saving Time?

I hope everyone is transitioning after the hour loss of sleep the government imposed upon all of us a few days ago. Contrary to popular opinion that daylight saving time was for farmers, it was first established in the United States in 1918 as a wartime measure to conserve electricity.
I am absolutely for finding ways to conserve energy. That is one of the reasons I would like to explore an end to changing the clocks and stay on daylight saving time.

Gray whale sightings along the Oregon coast are exceptional right now, having kicked in early, starting at the end of February when the Whale Watch Week was almost a month away.
In the Newport / Depoe Bay area, they've been spotting five to ten whales a day at the Whale Watching Center alone, and that's nothing compared to the explosions of reports on social media.
The distinctive new apple should be widely available by early next year.

Washington State University announced today that it has taken legal action in state and federal court against Phytelligence, an agricultural biotechnology company, for breach of contract and patent and trademark infringement.
According to filings by WSU, Phytelligence had signed a research agreement with WSU to propagate the trees that produce Cosmic Crisp apples, subject to strict limits. However, in 2016, the company sold 135,000 Cosmic Crisp trees to an outside grower.
