2011 Minidoka Pilgrimage in June Marks 69 Years

Pilgrimage honors Japanese-Americans incarcerated during WWII.

(SEATTLE, Wash.) - Salem-News.com During World War II, almost 13k people of Japanese-American citizens, were forcibly sent to a desolate “incarceration camp” near Twin Falls, Idaho.

The pilgrimage will be made from Seattle and Portland to the former Minidoka Internment Camp.

There isn't a day that passes without being bombarded with horrific reports; of some killed in a street in Pakistan, more are blown up in a village in Iraq, a drone dropped over a wedding in Afghanistan, a child shot in the back in Palestine, a bomb exploded in Libya, a "new and improved" version of an Israeli threat to Iran…etc…etc.
