Patients Gather as Legislature Proposes Changes to Oregon Medical Marijuana Program

Senate Bill 874 faces backlash from Veteran’s advocacy groups across the state.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Medical marijuana Calling all Patients! Oregon Medical Marijuana Program (OMMP) cardholders are coming together to defend the OMMA and fight for its expansion- and advocates are asking for patients to come to the Capitol.

Tomorrow, April 14th, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. proposed Senate Bill 874 will be going through what is known as a "gut and stuff" session. What's a "gut and stuff"? It's an opportunity to retain the framework of a bill and change what's within it.

Marion Cultural Development Corporation Awards OCT Monies

(Salem, Oregon) - Salem-News.com Marion Cultural Development Corporation announced this week the awarding of $29,600 of Oregon Cultural Trust monies to 17 Marion County non-profit organizations. Organizations receiving funds must match the grant with their own funds. Grants must meet the objectives of promoting awareness of Marion County’s cultural assets, strengthening communities by upholding diverse cultural traditions as well as vital urban centers and the distinctive historic character of small towns and neighborhoods, inspiring youth to engage in creative expression and heritage activities and supporting their efforts to develop cultural awareness, developing leadership for maintaining vigorous cultural organizations, supporting excellence, and encouraging investment in the arts, heritage, and humanities as a means of stimulating cultural and economic vitality.
