Sternwheeler Willamette Queen Runs Aground Tuesday Night

Efforts to re-float the sternwheeler will resume in the morning

(SALEM, Ore.) - Nobody was hurt Tuesday night when the Willamette Queen ran aground in the Willamette River around 8:00 p.m.

The vessel, a landmark in Oregon's capitol city, struck a gravel bar which held the vessel fast where it currently remains with two crewmen aboard.

Salem Police Investigate Shooting

The suspect fired multiple shots at the victim.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem Police responded to a shooting in the 3400 block of 30th Ave NE. When they arrived, they found a 22 year old Hispanic male who had been shot.

The victim was transported to Salem Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 18-19 years of age wearing a brown flannel jacket with a gray hood and blue jeans.
