University of Toronto Kicks Purdue Pharma out of Pain Class

Medical students at the University of Toronto were provided a book on managing chronic pain that was funded and copyrighted by the maker of the highly addictive narcotic, OxyContin - Purdue Pharma

(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) - St. Michael`s Hospital The drug industry's perceived role in a pain management course for medical students at the the University of Toronto, has led to a complaint, and a revamp in the school's pain management course curriculum.

The complaint led to a recent informal inquiry. A student brought the matter forward, along with two physicians in the faculty of medicine at the University of Toronto.

Plane Crash Leaves 70 Dead in Iran

At least 70 have been killed and 32 have injured ia an Iranian passenger plane crash.

(TEHRAN Press TV) - At least 70 people have been killed and 32 have been injured in a plane crash near the northwestern Iranian city of Orumiyeh. The IranAir-operated plane, with 105 passengers and crew on board, crashed near Lake Orumiyeh, the head of Iran's State Emergency Center said on Sunday.

The American-made Boeing 727 took off from Tehran and was en route to Orumiyeh International Airport when the incident happened.

Having spent two weeks in Santa Barbara for Christmas without any surf, made it real easy to come back to Oregon for a week of freezing cold conditions with giant clean surf.

Joining myself for the entire week of amazing surf were several locals; It was the biggest paddle session for the local crew by far and they were stoked to be charging it.

(TEL AVIV / SALEM) - Two sides of the Gaza wall The “News” Editor of the Salem News, Tim King, has decided to defend his errant writer and her less than stellar reporting skills in a response to Craig Dershowitz’ Open Letter to Belen Fernandez.

By way of justification, Tim explains that Belen is “tongue-in-cheek” which seems to equate to “foot-in-mouth.” But, he vehemently protests, she is also “ever so smart.” Mr. Dershowitz never called her intellect into question.
