Clackamas County Sheriff`S Deputies Arrest Wanted Subject Who Ran From Stolen Vehicle

(Clackamas, Oregon) - arrested - Serge Khukhryansyiy, age 22 Today at 6:04 p.m. an alert Clackamas County Sheriff's Deputy detected a vehicle with reported stolen license plates proceeding north bound on SE 82ND Avenue, in Clackamas County.

This reported stolen vehicle failed to comply with this Clackamas County Deputy Sheriff's emergency lights and siren to come to a complete stop. This stolen vehicle continued onward – illegally – to a location southbound on I-205, near Johnson Creek Boulevard, where this stolen vehicle failed to negotiate a turn, rolled over and came to rest on its roof – trapping and injuring the sole passenger inside (Not life-threatening).

National Project Leads to Dramatic Reduction in Food Waste at Linfield College

(McMinnville, Oregon) - Pioneer Hall - Linfield College 1882 Colleges like to talk about going green, but dining hall waste leaves some budget columns in the red. Linfield is working to change that. A lot of food that ends up on college campuses is grown, transported, prepared — and thrown out.

A tracking study at Linfield College, part of a pilot project at eight U.S. schools, has led to a dramatic reduction in kitchen food waste. Employees at participating schools reduced the amount of food going to the landfill by about one third, simply by tracking and monitoring waste before it even makes it onto the students’ trays.

Hundreds will march through downtown Portland Friday to share message of compassion

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Rabbits On Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, more than 200 animal lovers are expected to participate in a peaceful, police-escorted march in downtown Portland to celebrate Fur Free Friday. Holiday shoppers will be greeted by throngs of spirited activists carrying signs including a 10 foot banner with images of fur-bearing animals that reads, "Thanks for not buying fur." The "Radical Cheerleaders" will perform for passersby along a route that passes all Portland stores that still sell fur.

LPS` Mortgage Monitor Report: October Data Shows Foreclosure Inventories at All-Time High Rates

(JACKSONVILLE, Fla) - Foreclosure for sale sign The October Mortgage Monitor report released by Lender Processing Services, Inc. (NYSE: LPS) shows that accelerated foreclosure referral activity over the last several months has pushed the foreclosure inventory rate to all-time highs. As of the end of October 2010, foreclosure inventories are 7.4 times historical averages and rising.

Bicyclist Inappropriately Grabs Jogger in Beaverton

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - Beaverton Police On Monday at 6:30 p.m., the Beaverton Police Department was called to a report of harassment. When officers arrived a young lady explained she had been grabbed from behind by a subject on a bike.

The 29 year old victim told police she had been jogging westbound on the south side of S.W. Walker Road, roughly 200 yards east of S.W. 150th Avenue. She said a male bicyclist road up from behind, grabbing her in between her legs and then her breasts, all outside of her clothing.

Portland - Subject Shoots at Police; Officer-Involved Shooting Occurs

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Shooting investigation logo Today at 12:40 a.m., East Precinct Officers responded to a call in the 11000 Block of SE 106th and Cherry Blossom Avenue regarding a family disturbance. The caller stated that he had accidentally shot his stepson.

When officers arrived, the owner of the home reported that his stepson was attacking his stepdaughter and that the stepdaughter and wife were still in the house. The man also reported that he accidentally shot his stepson during the course of the argument.
