Coos Bay Man Arrested Following Drug-Involved Injury Traffic Crash

(Coos Bay, Oregon) - Wrecked Toyota Tacoma A Coos Bay man is facing multiple charges following a drugged driving-related crash Monday afternoon on the Highway 241 Isthmus Slough Bridge. Two people were injured in the crash.

According to Oregon State Police (OSP) Trooper Josh Young, today at approximately 2:32 p.m. a 2001 Toyota Tacoma pickup driven by Michael Richard Ames, age 39, from Coos Bay, was reportedly being driven recklessly southbound across the Isthmus Slough Bridge when it traveled onto the southbound sidewalk.

Salem Police Arrest Suspect in Murder For Hire Plot

(SALEM, Oregon) - Connie Lynn Anderson Connie Lynn Anderson, 33 years of age, of Salem, was arrested this afternoon without incident after she was picked up at Independence Rehabilitation & Healthcare where she worked.

She has been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Solicitation to Commit Murder, Attempted Aggravated Murder, and is being booked into the Marion County Correctional Facility.

Two Officers Charged with DUII in Separate Incidents

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Handcuffs Two members of the Portland Police Bureau were recently arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants.

Officer Joshua Sparks, a three-year veteran of the Bureau, was arrested and charged by the Washington State Patrol for Driving under the Influence of Intoxicants.

Dick Cheney With Congress having reconvened this week for its lame-duck session, a group of Oregonians today urged lawmakers to let the Bush-era tax cuts for those at the highest income levels expire, calling it the "responsible" course of action.

"Every dollar spent on tax cuts for the wealthy is a dollar not available to invest in our nation and its people," said Janet Bauer, policy analyst with the Oregon Center for Public Policy.

Jerry just recently started his 52nd year in the fire service. Jerry started with Corvallis Fire and worked for Jefferson Fire District and Tualatin Rural Fire District (now Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue).

Christmas Tree Permits Available at Forest Service and BLM District Offices

(Springfield, Oregon) - Christmas tree gathering family Christmas tree permits will soon be available at all Willamette National Forest District offices and the Bureau of Land Management Eugene District interagency office. Holiday enthusiasts looking for the perfect tree will also be able to purchase permits from local vendors.

Forest Service personal use permits are $5.00 each. They allow the holders to cut one tree; each household can purchase a maximum of five permits. BLM permits are $5.50 each; each household can purchase up to five of these permits.
