City Hall Intruder Arrested in St. Paul

(ST. Paul, Oregon) - homas Riffenburg A City of St. Paul worker was surprised by a sleeping intruder as she prepared to lock up City Hall last Friday evening. The City Hall building is located at 20239 Main Street NE, in St, Paul.

Lorrie Biggs was checking the exterior doors to City Hall shortly after 9:00pm, when she noticed the boiler room door was closed. It is normally left open to help heat the interior of the building during the weekend. As she opened the door, she was surprised to discover a male sleeping inside the room. She left the boiler room, immediately called 911 and reported the incident.

Latest USDA Hunger Report Shows Hunger Crisis Continues in Oregon

(Corvallis, Oregon) - Homeless man in Portland, Oregon, Salem-News.com photo by Tim King Hunger in Oregon continued to hover far above the national average as the Great Recession battered Oregon's economy, according to the 2009 hunger report released today by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Oregon, once again, remains among the top five hungriest states in the nation, as it was last year. About 13.9 percent of households more than half-a-million Oregonians suffered food insecurity. And 6.6 percent of households more than 225,000 individuals -- suffer very low food security or hunger.

It was reported that a helicopter had crashed into a Christmas Tree farm.

OSP Traffic Stop Leads to 6 Lbs. of Marijuana, Arrest Of Boise, Idaho Woman

(LAKEVIEW, Ore) - Six Pounds of Marijuana seized A Boise, Idaho woman was arrested late Saturday by an Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper with the assistance of Lakeview Police Department during a traffic stop in Lakeview when approximately 6 lbs. of marijuana was found in the vehicle. The OSP Drug Enforcement Section is assisting during the follow-up investigation.

According to OSP Sergeant Steve Yates, on Saturday at approximately 10:55 p.m. an OSP trooper stopped a 2010 Dodge Avenger displaying Idaho license plates on Highway 395 near milepost 143 for an unlawful left turn. The driver was identified as Julianne Nicole Stewart, age 25, from Boise, Idaho.

Linn County Deputy Involved Shooting Update

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Shooting investigation logo Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller is providing updated information to Saturday night's deputy-involved shooting on Gap Road near Brownsville.

At approximately 11 p.m. on Saturday, the Linn County 911 center received a call reporting a prowler at 25288 Gap Road. A deputy responded and learned that someone may have broken into an outbuilding on the property. As the deputy was investigating the scene, a suspect vehicle attempted to run him over.

Small Piece of Equipment Big Help in Rescuing Hypothermic Man From Overturned Kayak Near Brookings

(Coos Bay, Oregon) - throw bag A small piece of equipment was a big help last week when an Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish & Wildlife Division trooper and Brookings Fire Department personnel rescued a 44-year old Brookings-area man from an overturned kayak in the Chetco River near Brookings.

Using the trooper's throw bag, the hypothermic man was pulled from the river and taken to a local hospital where he was treated and later released.

An officer stopped the car after learning that the owner had an arrest warrant, he turned around to catch up to the car, and it began to drive erratically.

Fire Rips Through Beaverton Home, Injures Two People

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - A firefighter covered in foam exits the house after dousing hot spots A fast moving fire raced through a Beaverton home this afternoon, injuring a woman and toddler who were home at the time of the fire.

A neighbor called 9-1-1 at 2:35 pm reporting flames coming from the windows of a home located in the 6800 block of SW 169th Place in Beaverton.
