States reopen lower Columbia chinook season

Under the rule change, the entire Columbia is open to chinook, coho and steelhead fishing through Dec. 31

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Chinook Salmon Chinook salmon fishing will reopen on the lower Columbia River downstream of the Lewis River from Oct. 15 through the end of the year.

In a joint hearing this week, the Oregon and Washington departments of fish and wildlife decided to reopen recreational chinook salmon fishing on the Columbia from Buoy 10 upstream approximately 88 miles to the mouth of the Lewis River.

Reckless Driver Causes Roll Over on Highway 26

Jeff Bowman was cited and released at the scene for Reckless Driving, an "A" misdemeanor, which carries a maximum fine of $3,710.00 and up to one year in jail.

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - Rolled garbage truck On October 14, 2010, at 11:20 a.m. the Beaverton Police Department received a call of a roll over crash on Highway 26, east of the 185th Avenue exit.

Witnesses said a car was entering the highway at a high rate of speed when it ran into a large truck, causing the truck to roll.

Portland Police Find Missing 11-year-old Child Safe

Missing boy Found.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - 11-year-old North Portland student Lok Marcellay Early this evening, Thursday October 14, 2010, the Portland Police Bureau, with the assistance of several law enforcement agencies in the State of Washington, has located the missing 11-year-old boy, Lok Marcellay.

Lok is with law enforcement and is safe and appears to be in good health. His family has been notified of his safe return to law enforcement.

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - Beaverton Police arrest person with family violence warrant On Tuesday the Beaverton Police Department dedicated extra manpower to arresting persons with outstanding family violence warrants.

While domestic violence situations are of major concern to police officers who must deal with them on a regular basis, this concentrated effort was aimed specifically at seeking out persons with outstanding warrants stemming from such repeated violence.

Portland Police Have Found Missing 11-year-old Child Safe

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - 11-year-old North Portland student Lok Marcellay Portland Police Bureau Missing Persons detectives have arrested one of the persons suspected of being involved in the non-stranger abduction of 11-year-old North Portland student Lok Marcellay.

34-year-old Morning Star Marcellay, also known as Morning Star Means, the child's non-custodial biological mother, has been arrested by the Olympia, Washington, Police on warrants unrelated to this case.

Suspects Arrested in Beaverton Residential Robbery

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - Left: Ryan Morris Schulberg Right: Andrew Kraig Yarborough-Gamble On October 14, 2010, shortly before 2:00 p.m., the Beaverton Police Department received a call of shots fired at 5921 S.W. 141st Avenue. Witnesses reported having seen two males in the apartment complex parking lot with a gun. The suspects fled before police arrived.

As officer's approached the area of S.W. 141st Avenue they saw the suspect's car driving away, northbound on S.W. 141st Avenue. A short, low speed pursuit ensued but ended within ten blocks of the original scene.

Saudi Air Force Captain Arrested in Atlanta for Robbery Warrant

(ATLANTA, Georgia) - Atlanta Airport U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport affected the arrest of a Royal Saudi Air Force captain wanted in Mississippi for robbery with use of a deadly weapon, officials announced today.

CBP officers were notified by CBP’s National Targeting Center that Eid Sulaiman Albalawi was attempting exit from the U.S. via JFK through Atlanta. Albalawi entered the U.S. as a foreign government official on business in early October.

(CALGARY, Alberta) - Marijuana “Marijuana, Once Divisive, Brings Some Families Closer” is the title of the article in Saturday’s New York Times.

The title says it all. Fewer than 1 percent of people over 65 reported smoking marijuana last year. Nearly 4 percent, about six times as many, in the 50-65 age group, made the same admission.

Albany Northwest Community Credit Union Robbed

(Albany, Ore.) - Surveillance image of bank robber in Albany Oregon On Thursday, October 14, 2010, at about 10:30 a.m., the Albany Police Department responded to the Northwest Community Credit Union, located at 707 SE Waverly Drive on the report of a robbery.

A bank employee reported that a male suspect entered the bank and presented a robbery note that indicated he was armed with a firearm.
