ODFW seeks candidates for Fish Screening Task Force

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is seeking a member to represent agricultural interests on the state’s Fish Screening Task Force.

The ODFW Fish Screening Program helps water users install and maintain fish screens to prevent fish from entering water diversions. The Task Force advises ODFW on program development, implementation, monitoring, technology, funding and reporting.

Update on Pirate Seized Vessels in Somalia, Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean

(NAIROBI, Kenya) - Pirates in Somalia Today, 11. October 2010, 21h00 UTC, still at least 26 foreign vessels plus one barge are kept in Somali hands against the will of their owners. This includes at least 454 hostages - including an elderly British yachting couple and the 5 new hostages from Somaliland - suffer to be released.

On 8. October only 17 ships with 369 hostages under duress, but obviously doesn't account for the smaller sea-jacked vessels from Yemen or Iran and other maybe considered less important countries, for which the European naval forces seem only to care.

Police Respond to Double Stabbing

Domestic dispute ends in attempted murder charges.

(SALEM, Ore.) - 27-year old Austin Emory Vanderpool Investigators with the Marion County Sheriff's Office say two people were hospitalized and a third arrested after a domestic dispute that erupted shortly after 7:45 p.m., Monday evening.

Don Thomson, spokesman for the Marion County Sheriff, says deputies responded to a home in the 4600 block of Selby Court NE in Salem on a report that two women had been stabbed.

Short Changing Theft Investigation in Albany

There is reason to believe that Rodney Vaughn has committed the same offense at other Albany and Salem area convenience stores.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Surveillance Photo : Rodney Vaughn The Albany Police Department is investigating two cases where a suspect, identified as 43-year-old Rodney Robert Vaughn of Salem, "short changed" two local convenience stores.

The Arco station located at 1128 SE Pacific Boulevard and the U.S. Market located at 1709 SE Hill Street both reported that between August and September 2010, Rodney Vaughn entered the businesses and asked for change.
