Port of Hood River and Kapsch TrafficCom Introduce First Tolling System Deployment Based on 5.9 GHz DSRC WAVE in U.S.

Salem Police Looking for Drug Store Bandit

(SALEM, Ore.) - Drug Store Bandit wanted by Salem Oregon Police On Wednesday, August 25th, just before 9:00 PM, an unidentified suspect held up the pharmacy inside the Safeway store located at 5660 Commercial St SE. The robber displayed a note demanding the drug Oxycontin. No weapon was displayed and no one was injured. The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of the drug. The police attempted a search with a K9; however, he was able to get away.

U.S. Border Patrol in Arizona Seize More Than $1 Million in Drugs

The cocaine weighs 27 pounds and has an estimated street valued of $889,000.

(Yuma, Ariz.) - Blythe Station Border Patrol agents seized 27 pounds of cocaine in a wheel well at the Highway 95 checkpoint south of Quartzsite, Ariz. on Tuesday. U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Yuma Sector seized more than $1 million of marijuana and cocaine, and arrested three drug smugglers in two separate incidents this week.

Blythe Station Border Patrol agents seized 27 pounds of cocaine in a wheel well at the Highway 95 checkpoint south of Quartzsite, Ariz. on Tuesday.

Nineteen Aliens Apprehended in the U.S. Virgin Islands

(St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.) - Salem-News.com Early this morning U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents and officers apprehended 19 aliens, 16 Cuban nationals and three Brazilian nationals, after making an illegal entry into this United States territory.

Ramey Sector Border Patrol agents arrested 16 Cuban aliens in the Cruz Bay area in St. John, after receiving information of an alleged disembarkation.

Salem Police Hoping To Identify Denny`s Robber

The suspect is described as a white male, 45 to 55 years of age, 5'10", 200 pounds, short blonde balding hair, a heavy mustache and unshaven, wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, and faded blue jeans.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem police hoping to identify Dennys robber Last Thursday, at about 1:30 AM, an unidentified white male robbed a patron in the restroom of the Denny's Restaurant, 3680 Market St NE. The patron had gone into the restroom to wash his hands when the suspect stepped out from a stall, displayed a small pocket knife, and robbed him of a few dollars. No one was injured during the incident.

Following San Bruno Pipeline Fire, Landowners on PG&E Pipeline Route Join Lawsuit

Many communities along the proposed pipeline route have volunteer fire departments with limited resources.

(MEDFORD, Ore.) - San Bruno Landowners along PG&E’s proposed Pacific Connector pipeline route announced today that they will ask to join a federal lawsuit brought against Oregon and the state’s Clean Water Act permitting process.

The Pacific Connector pipeline proposal sued Oregon’s agencies for deeming their application incomplete for a 230-mile, 36-inch, non-odorized pipeline.
