Pin-Up Girl Raises Big Money For Vets` Health Care

Gina Elise boosts morale for deployed troops and hospitalized vets.

(LOS ANGELES, Calif.) - Sexy Pin-Up-In-Chief Gina Elise, creator of the award-winning “Pin-Ups For Vets” Calendar fundraiser project, recently presented a $15,000.00 check to the Portland, Oregon VA Hospital to improve rehabilitation programs for Veterans and recovering troops.

This was Elise’s third donation to a VA or military hospital in the U.S. since she began her pin-up calendar project in 2007 to help ill and injured Veterans.

Top U.S. Photographer Arrested & Injured by Police for Photographing Santa Claus

Voted the best news photographer in the United States, Scott Rensberg was treated like an animal by police in Charleston, West Virginia.

(CHARLESTON, West Va.) - Salem-News.com An award-winning video journalist from Washington was arrested Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, for taking pictures of Santa and a choir at a West Virginia mall, and he says the police officer's actions during the arrest nearly dislocated his shoulder.

47-year old Scott Rensberger thought he had the situation under control, but when he went to take a photo of a police corporal named "R.C. Basford", he was suddenly in for a police 'take down' and down to the ground he went.

Congress Lifts Ban On D.C. Medical Marijuana Law

Coming on top of the announcement that the Justice Department will no longer interfere with state medical marijuana laws, this shows that the ground has fundamentally shifted.

(WASHINGTON D.C. MPP) - The U.S. Senate today passed historic legislation to end the decade-long ban on implementing a medical marijuana law in Washington, D.C.

This marks the first time in history Congress has changed a marijuana law for the better. Only Obama’s signature is needed for the change to become law.

Search for Two Missing Climbers on Mt. Hood Continues

This deceased climber is identified as 26-year old Luke T. Gullberg of Demoines, Washington.

(MT. HOOD, Ore.) - Climber Luke Gullberg died on Mt. Hood Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Search and Rescue Coordinators and volunteers remain actively engaged in the ongoing rescue mission on Mount Hood.

One of the climbers died on the mountain and has been recovered, but his two climbing partners remain missing.

The victim driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her 26-year old male passenger received non-life threatening injuries.

(TIGARD, Ore.) - Photos of house fire in Tigard, Ore. 12-12-09 by TVF&R Firefighters from Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue called out just after 8:00 a.m. this morning to reports of a home on fire in the 8700 block of SW Spruce Street in Tigard.

Cassandra Ulven with TVF&R, says firefighters from Tigard Station 51 arrived within four minutes to find heavy smoke and flames coming from most of the windows of the two-story home at 8708 SW Spruce Street.
