(SEATTLE, Wash.) - The Washington State Patrol mourns the deaths of four City of Lakewood officers killed in what appears to be a planned ambush yesterday morning.

While we honor the lives and sacrifice of all four officers, the death of Officer Ron Owens hits especially close to home. Owens was a former state trooper, having served our agency from 1997 until he left to join the Lakewood Police Department in 2004.

Reward for Lakewood Cop Killer Now at $125 Thousand

Law enforcement still looking for suspect in Murder of four police officers.

(LAKEWOOD, Wash.) - The Pierce County, Washington Sheriff's Department is still looking for the suspect in the Lakewood police officer shooting. A warrant for four counts of first degree murder has been issued for 37-year old Maurice Clemmons.

He reportedly has a gunshot wound and is armed. Detectives say the suspect knows law enforcement is looking for him and should be considered dangerous.

Oregon AG Kroger Charging Sizemores in New Tax Evasion Case

Attorney General Kroger said that several other potential tax evasion cases are under investigation.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon Attorney General John Kroger today announced that the Oregon Department of Justice has filed tax evasion charges against Bill and Cindy Sizemore.

The Sizemores were each indicted by a grand jury on three counts of Oregon Personal Income Tax Evasion. The indictment alleges that Bill and Cindy Sizemore each failed to file tax returns for the tax years 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Group Stands by Economic Analysis of Job Losses due to Measures 66 and 67

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Supporters of higher taxes in Oregon are desperate to debunk the overwhelming economic logic that the personal and corporate income tax increases in Measures 66 and 67 on the January ballot will result in tens of thousands of job losses.

Oregon Center for Public Policy asked economists at the Tax Policy Center in Washington D.C. to challenge the analysis of two prominent Oregon economists, Bill Conerly and Randall Pozdena, which find that some 70,000 jobs will be lost if the two tax measures go into effect.
