Lakewood Police Identify Person of Interest in Murder of 4 Officers

Person of Interest identified in Murder of Lakewood Police Officers should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.

(LAKEWOOD, Wash.) - 37-year old Maurice Clemmons The Pierce County Sheriff's Department has identified a person of interest in the November 29, 2009, murder of four Lakewood Police officers.

The person of interest is Maurice Clemmons, a 37-year old black male from the Parkland area of Pierce County. Clemmons is 5'8" tall, 235 lbs., with black hair, brown eyes, and a mole on his left cheek.

Hillsboro Police Investigate Fatal Shooting at Hair Salon

The names of the parties involved will not be released until at least Monday, pending notification of relatives.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Hillsboro Police were called to a fatal shooting today at the Great Clips Hair Salon, located at 22075 NW Imbrie Drive.

Hillsboro Police Lt. Michael Rouches says officers responded to a report of shots fired today at 4:30 p.m. He says upon arrival, officers discovered a 20-year old female employee of the salon shot dead in a break room area of the shop.

City of Lakewood Identifies Slain Police Officers

Those interested in supporting the families of the slain officers are welcome to make a donation through the Lakewood Police Independent Guild.

(LAKEWOOD, Wash.) - Salem-News.com Lakewood Police Chief Bret Farrar publicly identified the four slain police officers after what his agency called, an extensive and very difficult notification process.

"All four of our slain officers had been with this department since it started five years ago. Sergeant Mark Renninger and Officers Ronald Owens, Tina Griswold, and Greg Richards were police veterans when they started and all have been outstanding professionals..."

Portland`s Water Boiling Notice Ends

Officials say taps are tested & water is safe to drink.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Glass of water
Residents and businesses west of the Willamette River may now drink tap water without boiling it first. Additional testing of drinking water has shown no further presence of bacterial contamination.

The Portland Water Bureau recommends all residents and businesses flush all taps for 2 minutes or until the water runs cold before consuming for the first time.

Cannon Beach High Angle Rescuers and Coast Guard Rescue Two

Rescue teams were climbed into a cave to retrieve the pair and a Coast Guard helicopter flew them to safety.

(CANNON BEACH, Ore.) - The Coast Guard assisted Cannon Beach, Oregon authorities with the rescue of two people from a cave at Cannon Beach Saturday.

A spokesperson for the Coast Group/Air Station Astoria, says they received a request for assistance from Cannon Beach authorities.
