Missing Forest Grove Boy Found Cold but Unharmed

The boy was located shortly after midnight.

(MANNING, Ore.) - Nine-year-old Joseph Schneider was located unharmed after several hours. Officials say a nine-year-old Forest Grove boy who was visiting family friends became lost in the Manning area Wednesday night.

He was found nine hours later, cold but unharmed, according to Washington County Sheriff's Office Spokesman, Sgt. David Thompson

Ties between Iranian Americans and Iran remain strong.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - The homeland of Iranian people In August of 2008, the Public Affairs of Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA) commissioned Zogby International to conduct a national public opinion survey of Iranian Americans to gather, for the first time, accurate and timely information about the demographics and views of the Iranian American community.

The purpose of the 2008 survey was to provide PAAIA with the knowledge required to more effectively represent the Iranian American community, and to further inform and educate the American public at large, as well as U.S. policy makers and opinion makers about Iranian Americans.

Homes Sought for Rescued Horses

The horses’ former owner pled guilty to multiple counts of animal neglect, first degree theft, and tampering with physical evidence

(SALEM, Ore.) - Six horses rescued from neglect by Willamette Humane Society (WHS) over the summer are now available for adoption.


The adoptable horses were seized from the Early Rise Ranch in July due to starvation and neglect. For the past four months, these horses (and more than 20 others removed from the Ranch) have been in foster care with WHS undergoing treatment and rehabilitation.

Three Dead in Apparent Murder Suicide

Detectives are still investigating the incident and will not be releasing details of the crime until they are more certain of the series of events that led to the three deaths.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Crime scene Detectives with the Washington County Sheriff's Office are investigating the deaths of three people in the Bethany area. The preliminary investigation indicates that this was a murder suicide.

The names of the deceased are being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin, said Spokesman for the Washington County Sheriff, Dave Thompson.

Mormon Church Supports Nondiscrimination Ordinances for Gay People

In a surprise turnabout move, the Church of Latter Day Saints now backs gay rights.

(SALT LAKE CITY) - Salem-News.com The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has declared its support of nondiscrimination regulations that would extend protection in matters of housing and employment in Salt Lake City to those with same-sex attraction.

The Church said the Salt Lake City Council’s new nondiscrimination ordinance “is fair and reasonable” and balances fair housing and employment rights with the religious rights of the community.
