State Revokes Mortgage Broker License

(SALEM, Ore.) - Gavel In its ongoing effort to protect consumers from mortgage lending fraud, the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) has revoked the license of Tigard-based Pacific Rim Mortgage, Inc. and issued a cease-and-desist order against its owner, Victoria Bigham.

The order prohibits Bigham from working in the mortgage lending business as an owner, in a supervisory position, or as a loan originator for a mortgage broker.

Conditions improve across California Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night as the rain tapers off and winds diminish.

(SAN FRANCISCO) - Forecasters say after facing raging wildfires that threatened their homes late this summer, some California residents are now dealing with the threat of devastating flooding, mudslides and debris flows.

A major storm system bearing down on the West Coast will continue unleashing torrential rainfall and producing tropical storm-force winds across California. In addition to flooding and mudslides, the rain and wind will also lead to mounting airport delays, disrupted traffic and potential power outages.

Deputies Investigate Weekend Shooting

Investigators want to talk to anyone who was in the area of State and Lancaster or has any information regarding this incident.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Shooting investigation Deputies in Marion County are investigating a shooting over the weekend that involved a 23-year old Salem man. Lt. Shelia Lorance with the sheriff's office, says a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck was brought to the hospital around 7:41 p.m. Saturday.

Lorance says the victim, 23-year old Jeffrey Gorremans of Salem, was with a friend, 22-year old Michael Stoddard of Gresham, who was arrested a short time after their arrival by Salem Police for Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

National Average Ticks Up while West Coast Prices Ease

But Oregon's Average is Still Fifth Most Expensive in the Country for Fifth Consecutive Week

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Gas pump nozzle The national average for regular unleaded is creeping up, while pump prices on the West Coast continue to slip. The national average gains two cents this week to $2.48, while Oregon's average drops a nickel to $2.73.

AAA Oregon Public Affairs Director Marie Dodds says it's the first time since early August we've seen the national average go up.

Albany Woman Charged in Attempted Baby Theft

Detectives believe the suspect has displayed similar behavior at other hospitals, they want to hear from anyone who may have additional information.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - 25-year old Trinity Hanley Louise Vidal-Hernandez of Albany Albany Police detectives arrested a 25-year old woman around 10:00 a.m. this morning for attempting to kidnap an infant from Samaritan Albany General Hospital on September 19, 2009.

Albany Police Captain Eric Carter, says Trinity Hanley Louise Vidal-Hernandez of Albany was arrested for second-degree Attempted Kidnapping, Initiating a False Report, second-degree Disorderly Conduct and second-degree Criminal Mischief.

Salem Armed Robbery Suspects at Large (VIDEO)

Investigators say that although both of these cases are very similar, they do not believe they are connected at this time.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Images from store camera Police are searching for an armed robbery suspect who struck two Salem businesses Saturday night. The first robbery happened at 8:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Lancaster Drive NE at the 76 Gas Station.

Both of the employees who were robbed at that location, told Salem-News.com the suspect approached them at the gasoline pumps, and then fled northbound on Lancaster Drive NE in a white Honda.

Jack Herer Strives To Recover While The Fight For Hemp Goes On

Jack Herer is recovering from a heart attack, but his mission to bring hemp into the spotlight as an answer for multiple problems, continues.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Jack Herer Jack Herer is a very resilient fellow. 40 years ago he was a Goldwater Republican. Nine years ago he suffered a minor heart attack, and a major stroke. All these calamaties and more, he survived.

But his fight continues. For the last four weeks, Jack has been in a Portland Oregon hospital, slowly recovering from a heart attack. On Monday, he was discharged from Legacy Emanuel Hospital, and was moved to a nursing facility in Eugene.
