At what cost has the U.S. acted as if the Israel lobby is not a foreign agent?

(TEMPE, Az.) - IDF tank firing on Lebanon More than 46 years ago, President John F. Kennedy sought to preclude a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. In June 1963, he wrote the last in a series of insistent letters to Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion.

Those letters sought what Israel now demands of Iran: international inspections of its nuclear facilities. The key difference: Kennedy knew for certain that Israel, while portraying itself a friend and ally, repeatedly lied to Kennedy about its nuclear weapons development at the Dimona reactor in the Negev Desert.

America can only be saved by intellectuals as a class.

(CALGARY, Alberta) - Bush follower In the 2004 election, Republican operative Peggy Noonan, writing in the Wall Street Journal, said “Mr. Bush is the triumph of the seemingly average American man. He’s not an intellectual. Intellectuals start all the trouble in the world.”

Of course, I have been aware of this for many years, after reading Harvard economist and JFK confidant John Kenneth Galbraith who said: "Intellectuals have usually thought themselves disliked because others were jealous of their brains. More often it's because they make trouble."

Arrests Made in Cornelius Murder

Officers from the Cornelius Police, along with officers from the Washington County Sheriff's Office and Hillsboro Police are continuing the investigation.

(CORNELIUS, Ore.) - Two suspects have been arrested in a murder investigation that occurred over the weekend, according to Commander Ed Jensen with Cornelius Police.

The investigation stems from the death of 19-year old Eduardo Andrade-Alcanter of Hillsboro was killed on October 2, 2009.

Injured Salem Man Rescued From 2-Story Playhouse Roof

The man suffered a dislocated hip and needed assistance.

(SALEM, Ore.) - man on roof Marion County Fire District responded to a call for a rescue Sunday evening on 42nd Ave NE.

A man had been roofing a 2-story playhouse when he suffered a dislocated hip and was unable to climb down from the roof.

Due to the location of the playhouse on the property, rescue personnel gained access to the patient using the field belonging to The Peoples Church on Lancaster Drive.

Electricity was in the air and the place had a magical sense as Salem residents lined up for a night of roller skates and fishnet stockings, to watch ladies with names like "Areola 51" and "Like a Virgin" compete in a sport that used to be very popular in Oregon.

Police Release Photo of Missing Fisherman

The Coast Guard located the boat Friday afternoon in the Pacific Ocean, about two miles off shore from Nehalem Bay, overturned, with no sign of the missing man.

(TILLAMOOK, Ore.) - Missing fisherman, 62-year old Robert Shaw of Washougal, Washington, Police are hoping a photo may lead to the location of a missing fisherman, 62-year old Robert Shaw of Washougal, Washington, who failed to return to Wheeler, Oregon in his 12-foot fishing vessel after a Thursday fishing trip, his wife said.

Shaw reportedly went fishing alone on his 12-foot boat Thursday in the area of the lower Nehalem Bay in northern Tillamook County.

Even the Dead Have Trouble Getting Out of Oregon

Oregon is among several states where dwindling revenues and reduced cremation costs are affecting the bottom line for mortuaries.

(CALGARY, Alberta) - Dead body States across the country are having to cope with increased numbers of indigent burials and cremations. The New York Times reports that in Oregon alone, the number of unclaimed bodies has increased by half over the last few years.

“There are more people in our cooler for a longer period of time,” says Dr. Karen Gunson, Oregon’s medical examiner. “It’s not that we’re not finding families, but that the families are having a harder time coming up with funds to cover burial or cremation costs..."
