Rethinking Corporate America

I know, I know, Americans believe in individuality, but thoughtful Americans know they’ve been sold a bill of goods.

(CALGARY, Alberta) - Corporate America This is a heuristic exercise—which my dictionary defines as “encouraging a person to learn, discover, understand, or solve problems on his or her own”. My job is to give you the information with which to do that.

In 1600, Queen Elizabeth I and a few of her court intimates founded the East India Company. As part of the founding charter she granted the company limited liability for losses on the part of the enterprise’s backers.

Making Progress in the Fight for Veterans With PTSD

PTSD Documentary Will Benefit From Video Expedition.

(SIERRA VISTA, Az.) - PTSD activist during interview with Salem-News.com`s Bonnie King at the Soldier`s Home in Napa, California. Our quest to gather material for an upcoming hour-long television documentary on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is progressing well. The point of this program is education for those who suffer from this type of stress, and for their families.

We actually started shooting for this program one year ago in Iraq, when I had the rare opportunity to interview soldiers and Marines about PTSD while they are still serving in the combat theater.

Back to School

So, it’s back to school and back to a regular routine and that is the comfort of the school year... for me.

(AGOURA, Calif.) - Salem-News.com Recently, I saw a really funny commercial showing a man leaping with joy as he pulled something down an aisle. It was revealed to be a couch, with his two sullen kids sitting on it, and the background music was the famous Christmas song which extols, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.”

It was a back-to-school ad and that dad was jumping for joy.

A Matter of Faith

Modern technology: the greatest creation in the world?

(PASO ROBLES, Calif.) - Salem-News.com I bought my wife a GPS for her birthday and it was used when she drove to Portland, Oregon on our annual pilgrimage to visit my family. Darlene was not impressed when we left, but she became a believer.

She was not accustomed to taking orders from an ethereal voice, and I had often to remind her to do as she was told by.

Reverend Benny & Mister Sid`s At Your Service #58

Men who think they're God's gift to women.

(Salem) - Benny and Sid #58 I really should have done a strip about the health care debate -- if you can call shouting down speakers at health care meetings a debate.

It reminds me of the people who complain about their doctors or lawyers or whichever occupation at the moment seems fair game for complaint. One moment they stomp their feet and act indignant.

PTSD Therapy: Are They Fakers and Charlatans?

What works: What doesn't work.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - One of the controversial PTSD treatments: Virtual Reality Therapy. PTSD Therapy has turned into a huge business with treatment centers all over the United States and also all over the world. The original stimulus seemed to be U.S. Veterans of the Vietnam war although PTSD has been an unfortunate historical sequel of wars since the Egyptian Pharaohs wars 4000 years ago.

It certainly happened in every U.S. war since the Revolutionary War. Back in those days the therapy was Opium and/or alcohol. We haven’t made much positive progress. In fact we may have gone backwards.
