Yamhill Drug Cops Take Out Another Opium Poppy Grow Site (PHOTOS)

No suspects have been identified in the case but it remains under investigation.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Opium poppies in Grande Ronde, Oregon A crop normally grown in places like Afghanistan and China, the fabled opium poppy, has been making a showing lately in Oregon Willamette Valley farm country.

The Yamhill County Interagency Narcotics Team raided an illegal poppy plant grow site in rural Yamhill County, On July 17th, 2009.

So far, President Obama’s words show he stands for something. But where Palestine and Israel are concerned, his actions show he’ll apparently fall for anything, at least if there is enough pressure from the Jewish lobby behind it.

Stayton`s Urban Renewal Plan On Hold

(STAYTON, Ore.) - Stayton, Oregon city council The council chambers were quite full in anticipation of the public hearing on the city's proposed Urban Renewal Plan. The Mayor first asked city planner Dan Flieschman to give a complete presentation on the plan.

Flieschman then did a power point presentation showing the expanded boundaries and talked about the funding mechanisms and the projected time frame as well as projects to be accomplished with the creation and development of the Urban Renewal district.

Army Partially Terminates Future Combat Systems Manned Ground Vehicle

The termination of the MGV effort will also negatively impact the development of the NLOS-C, which remains under a stop work directive.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - NLOS-C The Department of the Army announced today that it will partially terminate the Manned Ground Vehicle (MGV) development effort under the Future Combat Systems (FCS) Brigade Combat Team (BCT) System Development and Demonstration (SDD) contract with the Boeing Company.

The partial termination is for the convenience of the government.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Sex abuse suspect 57-year old Donald Wayne Friedrichs of Grand Ronde, Oregon Salem Police say 57-year old Donald Wayne Friedrichs of Grand Ronde, was arrested last Friday morning by Salem Police for luring a 14-year old autistic boy away from the parking lot of Petsmart, at 2925 Lancaster Drive NE last Tuesday evening.

Friedrichs allegedly took the boy out into a nearby field where he sexually molested him that night. The boy was found walking the next evening, July 15th, in the area of Silverton Road and Fisher Road.

Missing Oregon City Woman Located by CHP

The CHP located the woman on the other side of the California border.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Jean Knopf is missing from the Oregon City area. 7-21-09 UPDATE: 11:40 p.m. The recently reported missing Oregon City woman has been located by California Highway Patrol, while attempting to cross into the State of California, at the I-5 border crossing.

Jean Knopf is safe and will be provided for and returned home. Knopf was indeed disoriented and indicated to authorities she was attempting to return to her residence in Oregon City.

Man Dies in Single Vehicle Crash on Highway 26 west of Elsie (PHOTOS)

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police say alcohol is a possible contributing factor.

(ELSIE, Ore.) - Fatal crash near Elsie, Oregon 7-21-09 Oregon State Police troopers have cleared the scene of Monday afternoon's fatal traffic crash on Highway 26 west of Elsie. They say their investigation of the incident is continuing. The victim's name is being released following confirmation and next of kin notification.

OSP Sergeant Andrew Merila says Monday at approximately 4:17 p.m. a full-size Chevrolet pickup driven by 37-year old William J. Pierce of Hillsboro, was westbound on Highway 26 near milepost 20.
