Doctor`s Guilty Plea on Sex Abuse Charges Means Several Years in Prison

Lawrence Ronald Litwer is sentenced to 60-months in a penitentiary.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Dr. Lawrence Ronald Litwer Dr. Lawrence Ronald Litwer of Portland, Oregon was sentenced today to 60-months in the Oregon penitentiary for crimes involving contact with an underage female. Litwer pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree Attempted Sex Abuse.

Washington County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Dave Thompson, says that when Ronald Litwer was first arrested, Sheriff’s detectives were concerned that his position as an urgent care doctor could have led to other incidents of abuse.

PTSD is buried deep in our brains just like the best of our memories.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Salem-News.com I was relieved today, July 17, 2009, to see that the Oregonian, Dr. Karen Seal of The University of California, San Francisco and The American Journal of Public Health have finally caught up with me about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and suicides. I have been writing about this upcoming PTSD catastrophe for at least 2 years.

I accidentally became an expert about PTSD and suicides when I took care of upwards of 1000 PTSD Veteran victims in the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program.

Jefferson Firefighters Extinguish Four Alarm Grass Fire

The fire did not burn anything of value, but came close to spreading to a standing wheat field.

(JEFFERSON, Ore.) - Jefferson Oregon firefighters at brush fire 7-19-09 Jefferson Firefighters were called to a brush fire near the Jefferson-Scio Drive and Greensbridge Rd at 2:55 Sunday afternoon.

Anne-Marie Penge with the Jefferson Fire District, says approximately a 1/4 acre of brush and grass was burning when firefighters arrived.

Estacada Man Arrested in Crash that Killed Motorcyclist

A Saturday evening traffic crash in Estacada, left a Washington motorcyclist dead.

(ESTACADA, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Oregon State Police troopers arrested an Estacada man after he was released from a Portland hospital, for a crash that killed a Washington motorcyclist Saturday evening.

The investigation indicates a 1973 BMW motorcycle operated by 34-year old Van Kellems III of White Salmon, Washington was eastbound on Highway 224 just west of Estacada when a westbound 1992 Toyota 4Runner driven by 32-year old Christopher Mixon of Estacada, made a left turn directly in the path of the motorcycle.

Hearings Begin in Oregon for New Gas Pipeline (AUDIO)

The only Oregon hearings about the Ruby Pipeline project are Tuesday in Malin and Wednesday in Lakeview.

(LAKEVIEW, Ore. ONS) - Natural gas pipeline Hearings are scheduled in Oregon this week about a 670-mile natural gas pipeline proposed to run from Wyoming to southern Oregon. El Paso Corp., owner of the largest gas pipeline system in North America, wants to build the Ruby Pipeline to connect at Malin with a major north-south line.

The company has agreed to bury the 42-inch pipeline in most places, but it means cutting a 50-foot right-of-way through some of the state's most pristine high desert.

What is freedom?

(CALGARY, Alberta) - Salem-News.com In the forty or so years since Kris Kristofferson wrote Me and Bobby McGee I’ve often wondered what his definition of freedom actually means—if anything at all. Musically, it’s a great song (I first heard the Janis Joplin rendition around 1971 or so) but lyrically I see it as another C/W “poor me” song.

(What happens when you play a C/W song backwards? You get your girl back, you get your dog back, you get your truck back.)

(SALEM, Ore.) - Henry Allingham in 2008 It seems that it wasn't too long ago when you could still track down an occasional World War One veteran at a Veteran's Day or Memorial Day observation.

I have had the pleasure more than once, and I am sorry to know that the last known man to fight in the Great War, Henry Allingham, has finally left this mortal world at the age of 113.

Klamath County Deputy`s Patrol Car Struck at Highway 97 Detour

The no-injury crash was investigated by the Oregon State Police.

(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) - Klamath Falls police car crash 7-19-09 A Klamath County Sheriff's Office patrol vehicle was struck by a commercial vehicle trailer Sunday afternoon while parked assisting at the scene of a previous traffic crash.

Sunday around 12:50 p.m. a KCSO Ford Crown Victoria patrol car was parked with its emergency lights activated on Highway 97 facing north just south of Algoma Road.
