Egyptians Halt Viva Palestina Aid Convoy to Gaza

Former U.S. Congresswoman McKinney is in Cairo.

(PALOS HILLS, Ill.) - Salem-News.com Egyptian authorities have stopped a massive aid shipment from reaching the Gaza Strip, while United States officials further complicated matters by requiring 50 American volunteers to sign an affidavit waiving their right to be protected on foreign soil.

Egyptian authorities will allow the Viva Palestina convoy to take two ambulances and an unspecified amount of medical supplies into the Strip, organizer George Galloway told the American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) Monday.

Clackamas Investigators Seek Happy Valley Stabbing Suspect

Detectives say they are continuing vigorously with this ongoing murder/assault investigation.

(HAPPY VALLEY, Ore.) - Stabbing suspect sought A Happy Valley man died of multiple stabs wounds sustained during a fight Sunday on the corner of SE 85th Avenue & SE Causey Avenue, in Happy Valley. Officials there hope somebody from the public can help identify the assailant.

The incident happened early Sunday morning at 12:45 a.m. 25-year old Jose Ramirez-Navarro and 18-year old Manuel A. Salmeron were reportedly involved in a fight with another group of Hispanic males.

The briefing will feature a panel discussion with representatives from Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. Both organizations have recently produced extensive reports on violations of international humanitarian law in Gaza during the 22-day war this past winter.

Report: Taliban Captures District in E Afghanistan

A local report quoted provincial governor Jamaludin Badar as saying that the district fell to Taliban insurgents after three days of fighting and the government's negligence.

(KABUL, Afghanistan Xinhua) - Salem-News.com Taliban militants have captured a district in Nuristan province in east Afghanistan, a local newspaper reported Saturday.

"Taliban fighters overrun Bargimatal district on Thursday night after days of fierce clashes with police force there," said a Saturday's report on the Daily Rah-e-Nejat.

Beaverton Police Seek Wanted Molestation Suspect

Philip Riley is a white male, 5’11” tall and 125 pounds. He has blue eyes and gray hair. Riley fled with a substantial amount of cash and his passport, leaving his cell phone, credit cards and vehicles behind.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - 67-year old Philip Leland Riley Beaverton Police Department, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers, are asking for your help in finding a wanted person.

Det. Mike Purdy with Beaverton Police, says 67-year old Philip Leland Riley molested a boy at a local health club and is facing a lengthy sentence for this crime.
