FBI seeks Woodburn Bank Robbery Suspect

Witnesses describe the man as White, approximately 30-years old, 6’4", weighing about 180 pounds.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Photos of suspect Woodburn Bank Robbery 7-7-09 The FBI and the Woodburn Police are releasing bank surveillance photos of a man and a get away vehicle believed involved in a bank robbery, which occurred on July 6, 2009, at approximately 10:28 AM, at the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 2600 Newberg Highway, in Woodburn, Oregon.

The FBI and Woodburn Police Department are asking the public's help again in an effort to generate tips as well as to corroborate information on an unidentified potential suspect.

UN Calls on Regional Bloc to Find Peaceful Resolution to Honduran Crisis (VIDEO)

The coup d’état has received widespread condemnation from both within and outside the UN.

(GENEVA) - Skyline of the capital of Honduras, Tegucigalpa Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today voiced his sadness at the deaths that have occurred in Honduras following the ouster of President José Manuel Zelaya Rosales, and called on the Organization of American States (OAS) to find a peaceful resolution to the ongoing crisis.

Mr. Zelaya was ousted by the military on 28 June, hours before a referendum was slated to be held on changing the Honduran constitution.

Former Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara Dies at the Age of 93

Secretary of Defense Robert Gates says Robert McNamara was a patriot and dedicated public servant who took on grave duties during a period of great consequence.

(WASHINTON D.C.) - Salem-News.com Robert Strange McNamara died today after a lifetime of U.S. government service. He was an American business executive and the eighth Secretary of Defense.

Robert McNamara's name is in the history books. He served as Defense Secretary for Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson during the Vietnam War from 1961 to 1968.

Oregon State Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash Near Belknap Springs

50-year old Ann Poole, who was wearing a protective helmet, was thrown from her motorcycle and came to rest on the highway. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

(BELKNAP SPRINGS, Ore.) - Fatal motorcycle crash near Belknap Springs, Oregon 7-6-09 A Washington state woman died Monday afternoon when she lost control of her motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail along Highway 126E southwest of Santiam Pass.

A state trooper says 50-year old Ann Marie Poole of Ravensdale, Washington was eastbound on Highway 126E on her 2002 Harley Davidson following her husband on a second motorcycle, when she crashed for an unknown reason.

Residents of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) report a heavy police and paramilitary presence inside and outside the regional capital, Urumqi, where deadly clashes erupted at the weekend following a protest by ethnic minority Uyghurs, Radio Free Asia (RFA) reports.

"The situation in Gulja is so intense right now. I saw armed police everywhere when I went out to buy oil this morning. I saw five armored vehicles patrolling the streets..."

Two Soldiers and One Marine Killed Fighting in Afghanistan

Under an increasing tempo of war in Afghanistan, three U.S. combat casualties are announced.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Aaron Fairbairn, Washington soldier killed in Afghanistan Two soldiers were killed in Afghanistan on Independence Day while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. They are identified as Private first-class Justin A. Casillas, 19, of Dunnigan, California and Private first-class Aaron E. Fairbairn, 20, of Aberdeen, Washington.

A Marine was killed fighting in Afghanistan two days prior to the death of the two soldiers.

Oregonians Could Qualify for Nationwide Insurance Class-Action Settlement

The lawsuit claims that Nationwide underpaid policyholders by not taking into account general contractors' overhead and profit when it paid certain claims involving damage to a building or other structures.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon flag More than 9,000 Oregonians may be eligible for payments as a result of a class-action settlement between Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. and affiliated companies and homeowner policyholders who claimed they were underpaid on structural damage claims since 1996.

Claims must be submitted by August 26, 2009.
