Exile Burmese media have voiced alarm in recent days at reports of growing ties between Burma and nuclear-armed North Korea.
(BANGKOK RFA) -
A leaked report purportedly drafted by authorities in Burma’s military government describes a top-secret visit to North Korea late last year by Burma's top brass, during which the two sides pledged to significantly expand cooperation in military training and arms production.
The report surfaced just as both regimes find themselves farther out in the wilderness than ever before.
Police believe the uncle and granddad were smoking marijuana as the child slipped away unnoticed.

Salem Police say a two-year old child that was found wandering in a southeast Salem neighborhood led to the citing of the uncle and the grandfather of the child on neglect and endangering charges.
Lt. Dave Okada with Salem Police says a citizen located the female child at about 9:00 p.m. on July 1st barefooted and wandering on 24rd St SE near Adams Street SE.
The Umatilla County District Attorney's Office moves forward with case involving October 2008 Quadruple Fatal Crash east of Pendleton.

47-year old John Cole Carlgren of Carlton, Oregon pleaded guilty Thursday morning to charges arising from the October 2008 vehicular homicide east of Pendleton on Interstate 84 that claimed the lives of Jessie Cline, William Nephi Johnson, Michelle Marie Sawyer, and Fred Angel Young Jr.

The defendant pleaded guilty to four counts of Manslaughter in the First Degree and one count of misdemeanor Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII).
14 members of the U.S. military have lost their lives in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait, between June 21st and June 29th 2009. They bring the total reported in June to 48, according to our numbers.

Coyotes regularly feed on outdoor cats, according to a scientific study Observations of Coyote-Cat Interactions by Shannon Grubbs of the University of Arizona and Paul Krausman of the University of Montana published in the Journal of Wildlife Management.
The researchers tracked coyotes in Tucson, Arizona and observed 36 coyote-cat interactions, of which 19 resulted in coyotes killing cats.
Detectives say family members mistakenly believed they had to wait twenty-four hours before reporting Thompson as missing.

Portland Police detectives are currently attempting to locate a missing Northeast Portland man who may seem confused and may have dementia.
Detectives say they have reason to believe that 70-year old Daniel Rollin Thompson currently poses a danger to his own safety, but not to the public. Thompson was reported missing to Portland Police this afternoon, after failing to return from a walk, the day before.
