Hallie Ford Museum Features Collages from Portland Artist

Admission to the film and reception is free.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Collages by Portland, Oregon artist Eunice Parson A small selection of collages by Eunice Parsons, a Portland artist and teacher who has been called an American master of collage, opens July 25th and continues through September 20th at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University.

Organized by art history Professor Roger Hull, Eunice Parsons: Collages features a range of collages created during the past few decades and includes work drawn from public and private collections throughout the region.

Mount Hood`s Dangerous Awe-Inspiring Beauty

High altitude affects you in many ways. By the second break we are at 10,100 feet and I care less and less. I wonder, “What have I done?”

(SALEM, Ore.) - Mount Hood, Oregon ascent The Snow Cat spins 180 degrees and backs up about 30 feet. The ramp is lowered and the driver opens our door. Six climbers and two guides exit, one guide scrapes the snow with his toe and says, “crampon’s for sure”.

Without hesitation, we all turn our head lamps and strap crampon’s onto our mountaineering boots. Its 12:25 Father’s Day morning 2009.

Salem Police Offer Safety Tips for Independence Day

There are over 10,000 injuries reported in the United States each year from the misuse of both legal and illegal fireworks.

Each year, police and fire departments respond to numerous complaints involving illegal fireworks. Illegal fireworks can disrupt the peaceful celebrations of others and can ruin the tranquility and livability of a neighborhood as well.

I was driving to Mammoth, a ski resort we frequent, alone and early in the morning and began reflecting on my life.

I had a rough period recently and was feeling a bit blue. I know that that feeling is fleeting and I have much to be grateful for. In fact, I know that gratitude is the key to happiness.

Crash Closes Oregon`s Rogue River Highway for Two Hours (PHOTOS)

Police believe a driver may have had a medical problem.

(GRANTS PASS, Ore.) - Crash near Grants Pass, Oregon 7-1-09 Police say two people were treated and released following a head-on traffic crash Wednesday morning on Rogue River Highway, Old Highway 99, between Rogue River and Grants Pass. The collision closed the highway for nearly two hours.

Investigators say around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, a 2005 Toyota Prius driven by 69-year old Wanda R. Solace of Grants Pass, was eastbound on Rogue River Highway near milepost 8 when it crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into a 2001 Freightliner commercial truck driven by Donovan Hockman of Portland, whose age is unknown.

Clackamas Stabbing Suspect Casey Hatch Turned Himself In

Investigators called the stabbing location in a Clackamas parking lot "a very bloody scene".

(OREGON CITY) - 30-year old Casey J. Hatch Clackamas County Sheriff's Office investigators say fugitive stabbing suspect, 30-year old Casey J. Hatch; surrendered himself without incident to Clackamas County Jail personnel in Oregon City tonight at 6:00 p.m.

The stabbing victim in this case has been identified as 35-year old Elijah Stanley Antosh, who was initially transported from the scene to a local Portland Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Antosh is reportedly recovering from his injuries and in stable condition.

Lawsuit Will Be Filed Over Camp Lejeune Water Contamination

The lawsuit will allege that regulations in place as early as 1963 prohibiting the contamination were not followed.

(WINSTON/SALEM, N.C.) - Overview of the Marine Corps base at Camp Lejeune, N.C. The law offices of Anderson Pangia & Associates, PLLC (offices in Washington, D.C. and Winston Salem, North Carolina) and Smorto, Persio, Webb & McGill (of Ebensburg, Pennsylvania), will file on Monday July 6th a lawsuit arising from the toxic drinking water contamination at Camp Lejeune.

Many scientists have called the drinking water contamination at Camp Lejeune the worst in the nation's history. The contaminated drinking water was consumed by an estimated one million people. The lawsuit will allege that exposure to the toxins caused numerous health problems including cancers, reproductive disorders and birth defects, among other maladies.
