North Santiam River Main Channel Open Again (PHOTOS)

Several agencies came together to help make this excellent fishery navigable again.

(JEFFERSON, Ore.) - Santiam River The previously reported blockage across the main channel of the North Santiam River near Jefferson has been cleared. The Oregon Marine Board reports that a large cottonwood tree was removed to the shore on June 25th.

11-Year Old Boy Arrested for Arson in Keizer

Police believe an 11-year old boy is responsible for starting a series of fires in Keizer.

Coos Bay Man Arrested for Slashing Throat of Oregon Auctioneer

Deputies located the suspect in a trailer park just over one mile from the auction.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Salem-News.com A Coos Bay man is under arrest today for taking out a boxcutter and attacking an Oregon Auctioneer at the Woodburn Auction on Highway 99, South of Woodburn.

About 80 people were in attendance at 11:50 a.m. when 22-year old Jeremiah Thomasson reportedly attacked Chuck Boyce over a two dollar bid. Boyce is an Oregon native and a longtime auctioneer. Friends describe him as an intelligent and considerate individual and express outrage over the attack.

Lake Oswego Man Missing: Police and Family Seek Public Help

Jeff Clausen was last seen driving his white 2003 Chevrolet Suburban. He's known to frequent the Columbia River Gorge and Eastern Oregon in the past.

(LAKE OSWEGO, Ore.) - Jeffrey Bradford Clausen is a 47-year old white male. He is six-feet tall and weighs between 170 and 180 pounds. Lake Oswego Police say Jeffrey Bradford Clausen was last seen 18 days ago on the morning of June 12th 2009 when he left his residence in Lake Oswego.

Mr. Clausen requires certain medications for serious health conditions and it is believed that he does not have these medications with him. This causes great concern as to the current health, and physical condition, of Mr. Clausen who has also been reportedly recently depressed.

Former Promoter of Abusive Trusts Pleads Guilty to Tax Evasion

Orem, Utah, resident, formerly of Oregon, was scheduled to begin trial next week

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Money Roderick Prescott, a resident of Orem, Utah, and a former principal of National Trust Services (NTS) in San Jose, Calif., and later Selma, Oregon, pleaded guilty today to tax evasion, the Justice Department and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced.

Prescott admitted to evading at least $550,000 in personal income taxes for 1998 and 1999. Prescott was scheduled to begin trial on July 7, 2009, before Chief U.S. District Judge Ann Aiken in Eugene, Oregon.

Making health care truly affordable for all may not be politically easy, but failure to do so would be disastrous.

(SILVERTON, Ore. OCPP) - Salem-News.com History is unfolding before our eyes as Congress overhauls our health care system so that, at long last, it covers all Americans. Maybe.

While there's a good chance that Congress will enact some type of health care reform this year, all will be for naught if the new system leaves the cost of care out of reach for many Americans. If affordability is not adequately addressed, the prognosis for the nation will be poor.

Chinook Season to Close on Snake River

This closure is necessary to resolve confusion caused by non-concurrent regulations between Oregon and Idaho.

(LA GRANDE, Ore.) - Hell`s Canyon area of the Snake River on the Oregon side. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife announced today the upcoming closure of the Snake River spring chinook sport fishery. The closure is effective July 2nd 2009 at 11:59 p.m.

The season for Snake River hatchery fish opened on May 30th from the Dug Bar Boat Ramp to the deadline below Hells Canyon Dam. Fishery managers say they opened this sport season because the predicted number of hatchery spring chinook returning to the base of Hells Canyon Dam exceeded the number needed for broodstock purposes.

Milwaukie Officers Say Mace Wielding Suspect Assaulted Them

All the officers and the suspect were treated at the scene for exposure to the pepper spray.

(MILWAUKIE) - 46-year old Jeffrey Wayne Radabaugh Oregon suspect in police assault 6-30-09 Milwaukie Police officers say they got more than they bargained for while responding to a report of a man who was reportedly harassing a neighbor in the area of SE 42nd and SE Mason Lane.

Kevin Krebs with Milwaikie Police, says that as officers attempted to make contact with the subject inside his residence in the 4200 block of SE Mason Lane earlier today, "The subject made threats to injure officers and was uncooperative."
