Prisoner Fight Results in Warning Shot Fired at EOCI

Officials say 47 inmates were involved.

(ONTARIO, Ore.) - A warning shot was fired to put an end to mayhem at EOCI today. No one received injuries from the gunfire.

Several inmates engaged in a series of fights on a recreation yard at Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution (EOCI), today at about 2:30 p.m. The inmates refused verbal directives to stop fighting, at which time staff administered pepper spray.

Oregon Cannabis Growers Asked to Stop Using 14 Products

Fourteen horticultural products ordered detained and removed from sale, growers asked to stop usage.

(SALEM, Ore.) - The 12 notices cover 14 products sold in Oregon that were also identified by the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) in late June as containing undeclared pesticide active ingredients. In an abundance of caution, ODA issued its orders and is currently sampling and testing these products sold in Oregon.

The orders call for the product manufacturers to immediately cease all sales, offers of sale, or other distribution in Oregon. In addition, products within Oregon or transported into the state by any type of business transaction or other method
are detained.

Salem Woman Killed in Crash on Silverton Road

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Salem Police Traffic Control Unit.

(SALEM, Ore.) - When they arrived on the scene, officers found an adult female deceased and a 9-year old girl injured in one vehicle and the driver of the other vehicle with minor injuries.

The investigation has shown that 19-year old Estaban Alvarez-Ayala was traveling eastbound on Silverton Rd in a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck when, for some reason, he crossed into the westbound lane of traffic.

Steven Dery of Coquille Wins $1 Million Powerball Prize

Dery was only 2 digits from hitting the grand prize.

Mr. Sanders has been taken to the Marion County Jail for the crimes of Attempted Murder, Assault I, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Firearm and three counts of Menacing.
