July 4th Traffic Crash Near Siletz Claims One Life

Medical conditions are believed to be contributing factors.

Deputies determined that Mr. Kahn was the only occupant of the vehicle and he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the incident.

Oregon State Police Continuing Officer Involved Fatal Shooting Investigation

The suspect was fatally injured and died at the Salem Hospital.

(SALEM, Ore.) - fatal police shooting The Monmouth City Police Department responded to a call the evening of July 5th, at an apartment complex in regard to a male suspect who was allegedly trespassing and harassing an ex-girlfriend at that location.

When Police officers arrived at the scene, they learned that the male suspect had been involved in a confrontation with a male tenant of the apartments in which the suspect pulled out a knife, but the suspect had already left the area.

Fire Season begins July 5 in West Oregon District

Open burning has been banned in Benton and Polk counties.

(PHILOMATH, Ore.) - Owyhee Canyon Fire Due to increasing fire danger, the Oregon Department of Forestry has officially declared that fire season will go into effect at 1 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, in the West Oregon District.

This area includes private, state, county and Bureau of Land Management forestlands protected by the Oregon Department of Forestry in Benton, Polk, Lincoln and southern Yamhill counties.

Teen Drowns in Swift Moving Clackamas River: UPDATED

This tragedy is a reminder of the high risks swimming in rivers.

(ESTACADA, Ore.) - fatal drowning Upon arrival, rescuers learned from witnesses that the unidentified teen had attempted to swim across the river with friends, two made it across as the third attempted to make the shore. None of the swimmers were wearing personal flotation devices.

Rescuers quickly arrived on scene and learned the swimmer had been under water for about ten minutes before rescue attempts were made.

Serious DUII Crash Near Wheatland Road Sends Three to Hospital

The curves south of Wheatland Road are often underestimated.

(DAYTON, Ore.) - wheatland crash A 2014 Audi sedan lost control on a corner just south of Wheatland Road and crashed. OSP was called to the scene about 3 am Friday.

Police say the Audi left the roadway and traveled approximately 600 feet along the ditch line. The Audi struck a tree, a power pole and a highway sign coming to rest in the middle of the roadway after rolling several times.
