Cops Win by Default in Oregon Motorcycle Chase

After a chase that reportedly reached speeds of 140 mph, the suspect's "crotch rocket" ran out of gas.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Police say a Vancouver, Washington man was arrested early Friday after running out of gas on his motorcycle following an attempt to elude state, county and city police officers in an incident that started on Interstate 5 south of Woodburn and ended on the Interstate 205 Glenn Jackson Bridge.

Troopers say that at times, speeds were reported in excess of 140 mph.

Fusion Center Encourages Improper Investigations Of Lobbying Groups And Anti-War Activists

The ACLU has long warned that ambiguities regarding who controls these fusion centers and a complete lack of oversight over their intelligence activities would lead to violations like this.

The North Central Texas Fusion System bulletin states that it is "imperative for law enforcement officers to report" the activities of lobbying groups, Muslim civil rights organizations and anti-war protest groups in their areas.

Fake Doctors and Now Fake Medical Care

If 6 + years is required to train physicians to acquire the knowledge and judgment to prescribe these dangerous and sometimes lethal drugs why does anybody, especially the Legislators, think it can be done in two years.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Fake doctor I was aghast to read in The Oregonian, May 5, 2009, that the Oregon Legislature was planning to allow psychologists to prescribe the most dangerous and lethal pharmaceuticals to “their” patients.

We have already seen what has happened in the VA hospitals where psychologists and even social workers are prescribing these extremely dangerous medicines.

Oregon Officials Offer Update on H1N1 Swine Flu

Of Oregon's 48 cases, 19 children, 12 teens and 17 adults have been confirmed to have H1N1 swine flu. Twenty-three are males and 25 are females.

(SALEM, Ore.) - H1N1 swine influenza As of Thursday, Oregon public health officials had received confirmation of 48 cases of H1N1 swine flu.

One teenage girl remains hospitalized and continues to recover. The balance of the people are recovering or have recovered at home.

So far the Jesusita Fire has forced the evacuation of more than 13,000 homes. The residents of another 13,000 homes are on evacuation standby.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, Washington On May 9th, the Washington and Oregon New Sanctuary Movement coalitions will join together with immigrant rights, labor groups and immigrant families, in a Mothers Day vigil outside the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, Washington, a privately-run holding facility for immigrants awaiting trial in an immigration court or deportation.

Human rights abuses at immigration detention centers around the nation have been the focus of several recent reports, including one conducted by Seattle University School of Law and several partner organizations.

Feds Will Spend Millions on Eugene/Springfield Rapid Transit

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood Brings $3 Million in Federal Recovery Act Funds to Pay for Bus Rapid Transit Serving Eugene, Springfield, Oregon.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - The Emerald Express Bus Rapid Transit system serving Eugene and Springfield, Oregon U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood today announced that Lane Transit District will receive $2.9 million in ARRA funds for the Pioneer Parkway extension of the “Emerald Express” Bus Rapid Transit system serving Eugene and Springfield, Oregon.

Last year, the Federal Transit Administration signed a “project construction grant agreement” to provide $32.5 million of the $41.3 million total project cost to be paid out in annual increments through 2010.

White City Man Arrested on Multiple Sex Offenses

Bail in the case has been set at $4,000,000.

(WHITE CITY, Ore.) - 43-year old Dale Nickerson of White City Oregon State Police arrested a White City man Tuesday on multiple allegations of sex-related offenses that they say occurred over a one-year period with a known female juvenile victim.

OSP Detective Tom Harrison arrested 43-year old Dale Nickerson of White City Tuesday, and lodged him in the Jackson County Jail on charges of first-degree Rape, first-degree Sodomy, first-degree Sex Abuse and Unlawful Sexual Penetration.
