Plan ahead and enjoy your holiday road trips
(SALEM, Ore.) -
The Oregon State Police is asking persons traveling for the Memorial Day weekend to be prepared for their trip. Memorial Day weekend has historically been a dangerous holiday weekend for travelers as numbers of serious injury and fatal crashes increase during this time.
According to AAA Oregon/Idaho, "AAA projects more than 38 million Americans will travel this Memorial Day weekend. That's the second-highest Memorial Day travel volume on record and the most since 2005."
The victim's vehicle could not be seen from the road.
(DEPOE BAY, Ore.) -
Tuesday morning about 7:30, Depoe Bay Firefighters, Oregon State Police, and Pacific West Ambulance were notified of a man calling from his vehicle that had been involved in a crash.
The vehicle was down an embankment where nobody from the road could have seen him. The caller described that he was able to see a sign that said "South Fogarty Creek". This information lead responders directly to his location.
The tied arch bridge design is expected to be a beautiful addition to the Salem skyscape.
(SALEM, Ore.) -
Early Monday morning, while most of the city was sleeping, one of two signature arches for the Peter Courtney Minto Island Bridge arrived in Downtown Salem.
The white arches, which are made from 1-inch thick steel and are 30-inches in diameter, will soon decorate Salem's Downtown Riverfront skyline.
