Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Highway 78 East of Burns‏

At this point, there are no known witnesses to the crash.

(BURNS, Ore.) - Burns Oregon Police Death Traffic A Burns-area man died late Friday night when he was ejected from his station wagon after failing to negotiate a curve on Highway 78 east of Burns.

The Subaru drove straight into a culvert and rolled at least once coming to rest on its top. As the vehicle rolled, the driver was ejected.

Harney County paramedics responded and pronounced the driver deceased at the scene. Safety restraint use information is not available.

Police Arrest Gresham Man for Sexually Abusing his Pit Bull

A different kind of pit bull story.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Gresham Police Department say they arrested a man for 200 counts of sexual assault of an animal, and 200 counts of aggravated animal abuse.

Special Agent Austin Wallace with the Oregon Humane Society, says 20-year old Brandon Vongthongthrip was lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center on 1.5 million dollars bail.

Deaths in Iraq Jump: 6 Americans Killed in Recent Days

As of the first of May, 4,281 American military deaths have been reported in the Iraq war.

Americans have adjusted to an escalating casualty rate in Afghanistan and a declining death rate in Iraq, but this story shows that the level of safety in Iraq is not getting better.

Of the last six American servicemen killed in recent days, there are two Marines who were killed in the Anbar Province. Another reported casualty is a Navy SEAL team member was killed in action in Fallujah. Three U.S. Army soldiers have been lost in Iraq, including a Command Sergeant Major which is the service's highest enlisted rank.

A GMC pickup driven by 40-year old Jonathan Jason Christensen of Oregon City, was eastbound on Highway 224 near milepost 6 when it drifted across the center left turn lane and crashed nearly head-on into a westbound 2007 Ford F550.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community persecuted for its spiritual beliefs and threatened with imprisonment and fines.

(PETALING JAYA, Malaysia ) - The flag of Malaysia The Selangor Council of Islamic Religion in Malaysia has issued a notice ordering the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Malaysia to immediately stop offering Friday Prayer services at the national AMC headquarters, the Bait-us-Salam Mosque.

Various other activities of AMC Malaysia have also been banned under the terms of the notice and members of the AMC have been threatened with imprisonment and fines if they do not comply.
