Oregon Military Hall of Fame Annual Induction Ceremony

All Oregon ex-POWs; 7 Individuals to Be Inducted - Presenters include Governor Vic Atiyeh, Doug LaMear, and Jim Willis, ODVA.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - rahusa.us logo On Saturday, April 18, the Oregon Military Hall of Fame will hold its 3rd annual induction ceremony and luncheon at 12:00 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel on the River-Jantzen Beach.

Seven individuals and all ex-POWs from the State of Oregon are slated to be inducted; over 650 people will be in attendance, including 75 ex-POWs and 21 ex-POW representatives.

Vancouver Police Officer Shot: Two in Custody (UPDATE)

The search for the police shooting suspects ends.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Salem-News.com A manhunt has ended in SE Portland for two suspects involved in the shooting of a Vancouver, Washington police officer tonight around 9:20 p.m.

The officer is a Vancouver PD sergeant. He was shot during a traffic stop. The bullet struck the officer in the chest but his bulletproof apparently saved his life.

Officials Identify Woodland Teens Killed in Train Accident

The two apparently didn't hear the Amtrak train blow it's whistle.

(KELSO, Wash.) - Katie Blacklaw and Eddie Denson 15-year old Edward "Eddie" Denson and 15-year old Katelen "Katie" Blacklaw, both of Woodland, have been identified by Cowlitz County Coroner Tim Davidson as the teens killed by an Amtrak train Tuesday evening.

(GENEVA) - Unemployment in Afghanistan The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) said it was troubled by accusations leveled at the agency in the media today of spending millions of dollars of United States funding on allegedly substandard construction work for building projects in Afghanistan.

According to an article in USA Today, a report by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has criticized UNDP for delivering “shoddy work” and diverting money meant for Afghanistan to other countries and then refusing to cooperate with the agency in its inquiries.

Coast Guard Rescues Two from Overturned Vessel near Cape Elizabeth

Using directions provided by the Coast Guard's Rescue 21 system, the helicopter crew was able to locate both men.

(SEATTLE) - Coast Guard helicopter The Coast Guard rescued two fishermen who fell from an overturned fishing vessel near Cape Elizabeth, Ore., Tuesday.

Coast Guard units in Port Angeles, Washington, and Astoria, Oregon, recieved a mayday from the 31-foot fishing vessel, Renee Marie, at 7:20 p.m.

Clackamas Deputies Arrest Soccer Coach on Sex Abuse Charges

An adult coach was arrested over alleged contact with a 16-year old girl.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - 29-year old Travis Ferguson The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office arrested Travis Ferguson yesterday as a result of an investigation involving Ferguson being involved in a sexual relationship with a person he coached.

Detective Jeffrey Green with the Clackamas Sheriff, says the arrest came about from an investigation developed by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputy who works as the School Resource Officer for Rex Putnam High School.
