Oregon AG Pleased by Decision to Uphold Conviction of Sizemore

The Court of Appeals affirmed a trial court determination that Sizemore “willfully violated an injunction that the court previously entered in the underlying case.”

(SALEM, Ore.) - A court ruling against Oregon's biggest tax foe, Bill Sizemore, will be upheld. Attorney General John Kroger applauds the news.

“We are pleased that the Court of Appeals upheld the finding that Sizemore was in contempt,” Kroger said. “We’re deeply committed to holding people accountable when they break the law.”

Police Identify Victims in Morning Plane Crash

The crash site is near the summit of Chehalem Mountain, at approximately 1000 feet of elevation.

(NEWBERG, Ore.) - Investigators say two died this morning when their light plane crashed in rural Yamhill County, near Sherwood.

Yamhill County Sheriff Jack Crabtree said that the pilot, 49-year old Steven Robert Fordyce of Salem, and 53-year old Pamela Jean Lusardi of rural Marion County, were both killed instantly when Steven Fordyce's 1959 Piper PA-22 crashed at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday.

New Report: One-Third Do Without Health Insurance in Oregon (AUDIO)

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - About one in three Oregonians younger than age 65 has gone without health insurance for at least a portion of the last two years, according to a new report from Families USA, a national health care reform advocacy group.

The group is releasing data by state to add momentum to the push for reform. In Oregon, most of the uninsured are working, and Families USA executive director Ron Pollack says their lack of insurance is not just a temporary situation.

Tracy, California Police Seek Location of 8-Year Old Sandra Cantu (UPDATE)

Sandra's mother says she is terribly worried but has not given up hope.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Police in Tracy, California continue to search for eight-year old Sandra Cantu who was last seen on March 27th, 2009 around 4:00 p.m. Sandra was observed walking near her home at the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park in Tracy.

Sandra was last seen wearing a pink pink "Hello Kitty" shirt and black leggings.

Burmese Medicines Sickened Refugee Children

U.S. health officials have found lead and arsenic in traditional Burmese medications used by refugee families. Are children back in Burma also affected?

(BANGKOK and WASHINGTON) - Burmese children in the United States who took two commonly used household medications from Burma were found to have high levels of lead and arsenic in their blood, Radio Free Asia (RFA) reports.

The poisoning was discovered in 32 Burmese refugee children who were resettled in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in the United States from refugee camps in Thailand.
