Maitland is Named Reed VP-General Manager

Ms. Maitland joined the Reed staff as Director of Marketing in August 2004.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Hillary Clinton at Reed Opera House in Salem, Oregon Rebecca R. Maitland will become vice president and general manager of the Reed Opera House effective May 1st, 2009.

The news was announced by Roger Yost, president of QA Properties, owner of the Reed and other downtown landmarks.

Keizer Police Investigate Gunshot Wound and Attempted Murder

Police say the incident was an act of targeted violence, and the general public is not thought to be at risk.

(KEIZER, Ore.) - Shooting incident Keizer Police responded to a report of a gunshot victim at 1144 Dearborn Avenue NE in Keizer March 15th shortly before 11:00 p.m.

Captain Jeff Kuhns with Keizer police says that upon arrival at the residence, police found an adult male victim with a non life-threatening gunshot wound.

Weyerhaeuser Announces Closure of Mills in Oregon and Oklahoma

The company has closed 10 wood products manufacturing facilities this year and virtually all sites are experiencing reduced operations.

(Salem, Oregon) - Weyerhaeuser logo Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE: WY) today announced it will close its iLevel® lumber mills in Wright City, Okla., and Dallas, Ore., effective immediately. The announcement will affect approximately 307 employees.

Victims in Salem Fire Died of Gunshot Wounds

Police say they are going through a slow and meticulous process due to the fire damage.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Scene of Salem, Oregon fire where three victims were found. Autopsy results show that the three victims whose remains were found in a fire in Salem Sunday, died of gunshot wounds.

U.S. Casualties Mounting in Afghanistan

Four of the deaths happened in Kot, and one in Kabul, Afghanistan.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Negative shot of troops in Afghanistan The U.S. casualty tables are continuing to shift toward the conflict in Afghanistan, and this report is possibly the only one we have issued that listed no members of the U.S. military killed in Iraq.

Three soldiers from Illinois, a Marine Staff Sergeant and an Air Force Staff Sergeant were killed in recent days. All but one of the deaths was combat-related.
