Salem Police Locate Parents of Girl

Salem Police have located the family of the 4-year old girl that was found last night. Investigators are with them at this time and further details will be released as they become available.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem Police Lt. Dave Okada The Salem Police Department is searching for the parents of a 3-4 year old girl that was found wandering around in the area of Roselawn Dr NE and Burlington St NE at about 6:45 p.m. on March 18th.

Officers responded to the area on a report of a small child that was wandering around the streets in the area, according to Salem Police Lt. Dave Okada.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com San Luis Obispo, California Sheriff Pat Hedges tried and tried to catch Medical Marijuana dispensary owner Charles Lynch doing something illegal, but he simply wasn't violating the law.

After exhausting his local resources, the sheriff brought in federal agents from the DEA and they finally got a security guard to sell some pot to them. Over that, Lynch now faces years in prison.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Police shooting update The Clackamas County District Attorneys Office says a Grand Jury has exonerated two Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies involved in the fatal shooting of a 68-year old Canby man March 4th.

Clackamas County Deputy District Attorney, John Wentworth, says Clackamas Deputy Brian Lister and Deputy Jesse Ashby, were cleared of any criminal wrong doing in the fatal shooting of 68-year old Hubert Henkel.

Governor Signs Novelty Lighter Bill Into Law

Sale of novelty lighters prohibited in the beginning in June.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Toy lighters Governor Ted Kulongoski has signed House Bill 2365 prohibiting the selling or distribution of novelty (toylike) lighters in Oregon.

The bill, sponsored by Representative Paul Holvey, is designed to prevent lighters that look like toys from getting into the hands of children.
