Landslide Near Sea Lion Caves Closes Hwy 101

Travelers are advised to take alternate routes.

(FLORENCE, Ore.) - Oregon Hwy 101 U.S. 101 will be closed at milepost 178 Sunday night and into Monday following a landslide just north of Sea Lion Caves and south of the Cape Creek Tunnel, 11 miles north of Florence.

ODOT crews will be working through the night to clear the roadway, but cannot safely open to traffic until debris remaining on the hillside is cleared in daylight to ensure slope stability and safety for travelers.

Bloody Sunday: Syrian Opposition Celebrates Terrorist Attack in Sayyidah Zaynab Area of Damascus

Syrian media reports that more than 300 have died in 20 separate blasts.

(DAMASCUS, Syria) - Homs bombing Damascus witnessed yet another bloody day this week as four blasts hit al-Tin Street near the Sayyidah Zaynab shrine, a Damascus southern district.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights – a group close to radical rebels– finally had to report the killing of 62 and wounding scores of Syrian civilians in Sunday’s suicide attacks.

Petition would enable law firms and lawyers to investigate the regime for possible war crimes against civilians.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Saudi-Yemen With help of Yemeni activists, a global petition has been launched to convict the Saudi regime in the International Criminal court.

The petition pointed to some examples of Saudi Arabia’s crimes against Yemeni civilians, and asks the international Criminal Court, to fulfill its duties of addressing crimes of genocide and war crimes and to punish the regime accordingly.

A field survey carried out recently among 37,000 University of Jordan students, revealed that 16% of participants are dangerously addicted to narcotics.

Snake River Correctional Institution Reports Inmate Death

Oregon State Police Criminal Investigations Unit is conducting an investigation.

(ONTARIO, Ore.) - Michael-Teves An Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) inmate died unexpectedly early Thursday morning at the Snake River Correctional Institution in Ontario.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., Thursday, February 25, staff responded to the cell where inmate 22-year old Michael Teves was assigned. Upon arrival, medical staff determined that he was deceased.

5-Year Old Girl Rescued From Burning Motorhome after Fatal Crash

Oregon State Trooper encounters motorhome in flames, that took two lives.

(LINN COUNTY, Ore.) - traffic fatal The trooper discovered that a motorhome had struck the back of a parked commercial truck and trailer. As the trooper approached the crash, two witnesses from the rest area were running to provide assistance.

The trooper yelled into the wreckage and a 5 year old female cried for help. As the motorhome was on fire, the trooper used his fire extinguisher to knock down the flames.
