It's winter and that means some rainy days and nights. What can you do with your dog when it is raining cats and dogs outside? Here are 11 suggestions…
(FLORENCE, Ore.) -
Take your dog to the beach anyway, who cares, let it rain, let it pour, the water in the Pacific ocean is wet and splish splash. Some fun doggie beaches can be found along the Oregon coast in Florence, Newport, Lincoln City, Bandon and others).
Give your dog a treat and watch a doggy movie together like Lassie, Big Yeller, or 101 Dalmatians… woof woof woof…chestnuts roasting by the fire, cuddle up by the fireplace, if you have one and enjoy popcorn and doggie treats…
Visit the pet store, outlet mall or indoor mall where you can roam around with your pooch… My dog Cici loves to visit folks so this has been a big hit when it was too hot outside to breathe in the summer, but this can also work on rainy days.
Only two people received injuries when the SUV crashed into the fast food restaurant.
(PORTLAND, Ore.) -
Deputies in Washington County say a man trying to elude deputies Thanksgiving night crashed into a Jack in the Box restaurant at 5:35 PM. The man was arrested after attempting to run away from the crash. Sheriff's Office Spokesman Dave Thompson says the deputy used a Taser when the suspect was about to escape.
Thompson says it began around 5:30 PM Thursday, when a Washington County Sheriff's Deputy was dispatched to a location near SW 170th Avenue and SW Tualatin Valley Highway.
"A citizen reported that a man had threatened him after pulling up next to him in his car. The citizen pointed out the SUV to the deputy as it drove by them." Thompson says the deputy caught up to the vehicle at SW 170th Avenue and SW Baseline Road.
Nobody was injured in the incident and the suspect faces a number of serious charges.
(SALEM, Ore.) -
Salem Police arrested a 19-year old Salem man Friday afternoon after he allegedly threatened family members with a gun, fired a gunshot and then held police at bay for several hours.
Salem Police Lt. Dave Okada, says they received a call at 12:02 PM on Friday, November 28th, from a resident in the 2500 block of Walker Road NE stating that their neighbor was at their door requesting that they call 911.
"The complainant reported seeing a man outside with a rifle, then hearing a gunshot," Okada said. "As officers arrived on the scene they found that the suspect had retreated into his residence and was refusing to come out."
Casualty and pollution investigators from Coast Guard Sector Portland were dispatched to Tillamook to investigate the capsizing and a sheen of diesel fuel that appeared in the water.
(TILLAMOOK, Ore.) -
The search for two men near the north jetty of Tillamook Bay, Oregon, was suspended Friday at 4:31 PM, Coast Guard officials report.
They say the two men were part of a crew from the 42-foot crab boat Network from Garibaldi, Oregon, that capsized and broke up at 7:42 AM. Coast Guard crews including two 47-foot motor lifeboat crews from Station Tillamook Bay, and three HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crews from Air Station Astoria, searched 15 square miles for seven hours in order to locate the men.
The capsizing was initially reported by a Coast Guard 47-foot motor lifeboat crew from Station Tillamook Bay that witnessed the event. One of the three men aboard the vessel was able to swim to shore where he was taken to the Tillamook hospital by fire crews from Rockaway Beach and Garibaldi. Contrary to previous reports, none of the men were wearing lifejackets.
