VA Care: Fake Doctors and Fake Treatment

Phillip Leveque has spent his life as a Combat Infantryman, Physician Pharmacologist and Toxicologist.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Salem-News.com As a pharmacologist and PTSD victim, I try to keep up with what is going on in these two interrelated matters. Web sightings on the computer indicated 86 pages related to these subjects.

One of the most interesting to me was an article by William Levesque (he is a cousin but according to my French Dictionary he doesn’t spell his last name correctly!). He printed in the Tampa Times that the Tampa area VA Hospital was staffed mostly by unlicensed psychologists. This seems very bad to me. How come psychologists are treating PTSD, a medical problem? Are any doing brain surgery? It’s just one step up.

He writes that Tampa’s VA Hospital has 34 psychologists but 12 are not only unlicensed but have little if any supervision by a licensed psychologist and apparently Psychiatrists or regular Physicians are not in the mix. THIS IS A NEGLIGENCE CATASTROPHE. The VA says it doesn’t matter. If it doesn’t matter, why the Fake Treatment with Fake Doctors?

View from `The Group W Bench`

“Group W's where they put you if you may not be moral enough to join the army after committing your special crime..." - Arlo Guthrie

(SALEM, Ore.) - people on bench Several years ago, my husband, Bill, and I were listening to Arlo Guthrie’s Thanksgiving classic, “Alice’s Restaurant.” This song tells the story of a Thanksgiving celebration with hilarious and unforeseen consequences, including an arrest for littering and an impact on Mr. Guthrie’s experience with the Vietnam War draft.

Bill and I have been listening to the song every year since we met nearly twenty years ago, but on Thanksgiving Day, 2004, I felt as though I was hearing part of it for the first time.

Earlier in the spring of that year, after dipping my toes into the waters of politics in Maryland, Bill and I decided to pack up and move our family to Oregon. Our primary reason for moving was so that I could take the medicine I need, cannabis, without breaking the law.

Analysis From Jane’s Country Risk Daily Report on the Mumbai attacks

Comment from Jane’s South Asia Analyst, Urmila Venugopalan.

(LONDON) - “An unknown group, Deccan Mujahideen, has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attacks via email, although this has yet to be verified.” Jane’s South Asia Analyst, Urmila Venugopalan, commented. “Nevertheless, it has triggered speculation that the group may be linked to the Indian Mujhaideen, which sent email manifestos claiming responsibility for four attacks it carried out between November 2007 and September 2008.”

Jane’s Country Risk Daily Report explained that an examination of the strategy and tactics employed by this new group suggest significant differences to the terrorist violence that has beset India over the past 15 years and specifically over the past year.

Attacking international and luxury hotels and other soft targets is not a new phenomenon in the region, particularly in light of the September 2008 Mariott bombing in Islamabad that killed more than 50 people, but the apparent focus on killing or capturing foreign businesspeople, specifically US and UK nationals, has never occurred before, suggesting a wider global anti-Western agenda.

Op-Ed: Responsible Revolution
Can Reverse Malign
Corporate Controls

Defense of freedoms demands every citizen's action.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Few citizens in our United States completely comprehend how thoroughly corporate control has infiltrated governance, and how it deprives them of treasured Constitutional freedoms.

Apathetic, uninformed acceptance of supposed “the way it is”-status is the stunning reflection of WHY so much, for so many, goes so thoroughly wrong --when it truly didn’t used to be that way.
