Police Identify Man Who Reportedly Leaped From Greyhound at Freeway Speed

Police identify the victim who died on Interstate 84 as a Florida man.

(THE DALLES, Ore.) - Oregon State Police csay they notified the next of kin of a man who died after jumping out of a moving Greyhound bus window Wednesday morning along Interstate 84 in The Dalles. The victim is identified as 40-year old Darryl Ingemar Dixon, a Florida man who was enroute to Tacoma, Washington.

Mr. Dixon reportedly embarked from Davenport, Florida, boarded a Greyhound bus in Orlando, Florida and was enroute to Tacoma, Washington to visit a relative.

Police Detonate Suspected Explosive Device in The Dalles

(THE DALLES) - Oregon State Police Senior Trooper Wagner detonating device. An Oregon State Police explosives technician commended Northwest Aluminum employees for their handling of a suspicious, potential explosive object on plant property in The Dalles. The object was rendered safe Wednesday morning.

Oregon State Police were contacted Tuesday afternoon, after Northwest Aluminum employees found a suspicious object while in the process of dismantling the old aluminum plant.

OSP Investigates Deceased Man in Car at Santiam Rest Stop

The man is identified as 40-year old Brian Leslie Maxwell of Albany.

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - Oregon State Police and Marion County Medical Examiner are continuing the investigation into the death of a man found Wednesday morning in a car at the east end of the northbound Santiam Rest Area off Interstate 5.

There are no signs of violence or foul play, according to State Police. It began with a report that a citizen saw a possible deceased man in a car at the Santiam Rest Area.
