Gas Prices in Parts of Oregon Pass Four Dollar Mark

Prices at the pumps continue to be much higher than they were a year ago. The national average was $3.21 last year, while Oregon's average was $3.37.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Gas has finally reached $4 a gallon in Oregon. Today's average for regular unleaded in Medford/Ashland climbed to $4.01. The statewide average and averages for the other major markets in Oregon are only pennies away.

There doesn't seem to be an end in sight to climbing gas and diesel prices, which continue to set new record highs almost daily.

Remains of C-130 Crew Missing From Vietnam War Recovered

The final chapters are written in a saga about 14 families who believed their loved ones never died at all.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Ribbons from a tribute page to Curtis Daniel Miller who was aboard the Air Force AC-130A Spectre gunship that was shot down over Laos in 1972. The remains of four U.S. servicemen, missing in action from the Vietnam War, have been identified and will be returned to their families for burial with full military honors. The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office announced the information today.

Death Investigation Leads to Manslaughter Charge in The Dalles

Police say the preliminary investigation shows that the 24-year old victim died of blunt force trauma to the head.

(THE DALLES, Ore.) - 18-year old Jamia Long and 20-year old Selu King, suspects in a Dalles, Oregon homicide Police say an interagency investigation in the death Sunday of a 24-year old man in The Dalles led to the arrest of two people, including an 18-year old The Dalles resident on Manslaughter, Assault and Burglary charges.

Both men are scheduled for arraignment Tuesday afternoon in Wasco County Circuit Court.

Police Need Public Help Locating Wanted Madras Man

Several central Oregon police agencies seek information on wanted Madras man.

(MADRAS, Ore.) - Police are looking for Carl Williams III Police are asking for the public's help in locating a Madras man wanted after two separate eluding incidents over the weekend in Jefferson and Deschutes counties.

28-year old Carl Jake Williams III of Madras was reportedly involved in the two incidents on Saturday and Sunday; he is wanted for eluding State, county and city police officers.

Victim Safe and Three Suspects Arrested in Kidnapping Incident

Police believe the kidnapping may have been related to drug money.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Man handcuffed Deputies in Clackamas County say three male subjects armed with a handgun kidnapped a man from his home this morning at 7:30 AM, while the woman he lived with hid and managed to get a text message out.

The information allowed police to locate all three suspects and the victim, and the car they were driving as it turned out, was also stolen from the Portland area.
