U.S. Navy Announces Re-Establishment of U.S. Fourth Fleet

Some say it could be another setup for a preemptive military strike.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Navy ships and planes Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead announced today the re-establishment of the U.S. Fourth Fleet and assigned Rear Adm. Joseph D. Kernan, currently serving as commander, Naval Special Warfare Command, as its new commander.

Fourth Fleet will be responsible for U.S. Navy ships, aircraft and submarines operating in the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Effective July 1st, the command will have operational responsibility for U.S. Navy assets assigned from east and west coast fleets to operate in the SOUTHCOM area.

Sandy Police Seek Info on Firearm Suspect Who Threatened Couple

The Sandy Police Department is asking for your help in identifying this subject.

(SANDY, Ore.) - Police want to know who this man may be, he drives a black Ford Explorer and is alleged to have pointed a firearm at a 69-year old man and his wife The Sandy Police Department is seeking the public's help identifying a suspect who they believe pointed a firearm at a man. On March 29th at approximately 2:00 PM, a 69-year old male reported having a firearm pointed at him following a road rage incident involving the victim's wife.

The suspect was driving a black Jeep and is described as an olive-complected white male, early to mid-30's, with close cropped, tightly curled dark hair.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon State Police trooper pulling car over Oregon State Police Superintendent Timothy McLain will swear in fifteen new recruit troopers Sunday evening starting 24-weeks of training at the Oregon Public Safety Academy to launch their careers with the Oregon State Police (OSP).

On April 27th at 6:30 PM, the fifteen recruit troopers will be sworn in before family and friends at the Oregon Public Safety Academy Hall of Heroes in Salem.

Lawmakers Crack the Whip on Young Oregon Drivers for Unrelated Mistakes

Lawmakers raised during more tolerant years, say nobody caught drinking will drive until they're 21, and that their plan will save lives.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Teen driver being pulled over The state DMV says Oregon's adult citizens under age 21 should think twice about drinking alcohol. As of January 1st, they can lose their driver licenses without even getting into a car if they have any type of alcohol violation.

The new law passed by the 2007 Oregon Legislature allows courts to deny the driving privileges of residents if they have had any contact with police over drinking, even at a private party.

In Lebanon, the UN notes a sharp increase in the daily number of Israeli air violations.

(GENEVA) - Angela Kane, Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs Israelis and Palestinians are currently engaged in the most intensive negotiations on issues pertaining to final status since the political process broke down almost eight years ago, a senior United Nations official told an open meeting of the Security Council today.

However, Assistant-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Angela Kane warned the 15-member body that "the significance of this should not be underestimated, but neither should the grave risks to the process be overlooked."

Freeway Pursuit Leads to Arrest of Man and Recovery of Female Runaway

Police say speeds during the chase reached 100 MPH.

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Oregon State Police say troopers arrested a Hillsboro man and detained a 17-year old runaway female passenger Wednesday morning after they attempted to elude police northbound on Interstate 5 for over 25 miles before crashing on Highway 217.

"After crashing, the man tried to elude on foot but was overtaken by troopers and arrested after a brief struggle." Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police said.
