Vancouver Cheerleading Coach Arrested for Sexual Misconduct

Neil Finger made his first court appearance today.

(VANCOUVER, Wash. ) - A Vancouver, Washington cheerleading coach has been arrested on two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor in the first degree, after a mother of a 17-year-old girl read about it in her diary.


Vancouver police arrested 28-year-old Neil Finger Tuesday night. He is the owner and director of the Vancouver Cheer Academy.

Republican Wanda shudders each time the President which her party supports violates the democratic principles which are the foundation of their nation. Edgar has been unable to keep his opinions to himself. Now the pendulum swings the other way. Soon Edgar will find himself shuddering, and it will be Wanda's turn to fail to keep her opinions to herself.

Gas Prices in Oregon Rise Sharply

In the Salem-area, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded jumped 6-cents to $2.86.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - In the past week, the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline rose by a little more than two cents to $2.81. Oregon's statewide average, however, rose by more than six cents to $2.88.

AAA says consumers should expect to see pump prices rise a bit more in the coming week despite increased availability of foreign supplies and declining demand.

Suspects Flee Stolen Car Leaving Shotgun Inside

(KEIZER, Ore.) - Keizer Police say a traffic stop led to a foot chase and search Tuesday afternoon just before 3:00 PM.

Captain Jeff Kuhns with Keizer Police says it began when three suspects in a stolen Acura in a bank parking lot near the intersection of River Road North and Juedes Avenue North.

DOD Says Mental Health Recommendations Will Help Military

Problems in the overall system are unbeatable without money or commitment. The administration only began taking steps to improve problems after the huge, public fiasco at the Walter Reed Medical Center.

(SALEM, Ore.) - New mental health recommendations from the Defense Department suggest a number of new programs that will help soldiers stay healthier. They are based on a report that was submitted by a DoD task force on June 12th.

The DoD says they recognize that wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and repeated deployments into the combat theatre take a toll on the mental well-being of combat forces, and that they have raised questions about the adequacy of psychological health services and the DoD's delivery systems established during the Cold War era.

(MILWAUKIE, Ore.) - Bruce and Janet Alley didn't know what was going on when their doorbell rang early Thursday morning. Then, over the barking of their four dogs, they heard someone urgently pounding on the front door.

They opened the front door to find their neighbor, Milwaukie High student Tyler Baird, telling them there was a fire in their garage. The Alley family rushed out of the house and called the fire department.

(SILVERTON, Ore.) - Oregonians should applaud Oregon U.S. Representatives Earl Blumenauer, Peter DeFazio, Darlene Hooley and David Wu for voting to approve a compromise bill reauthorizing and expanding the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

Unfortunately, because Representative Greg Walden and others voted to side with the President and the tobacco industry and against the nation's uninsured children, the bill passed short of a veto-proof majority. The Senate is expected to support the compromise agreement in a vote later this week.

Longview Fibre Sued for Disability Discrimination‏

The agency says the paper and packaging company refused to hire applicant because of a spinal injury.

(SEATTLE) - One of the nation's largest pulp and paper manufacturers violated the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) according to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in a suit it filed today. The suit charges that Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging, Inc. withdrew an offer of employment for an engineer aide position when it discovered the applicant had a disability.

The EEOC filed the lawsuit on behalf of Scott Harshbarger, who suffered a spinal injury several years ago. Longview Fibre initially found Harshbarger qualified for the engineer aide position and offered him the job. However, after learning of his injury and method for pain control, the offer was rescinded.
