Lake Oswego Police Seek Whereabouts of Missing Man

Anyone with information is asked to call Lake Oswego Police.

(Lake Oswego, Ore.) - Police say they are looking for 53-year old Michael David Kennedy, a Lake Oswego Chiropractor missing since June 21st.

He was last seen at his residence the evening of June 20th. Police say his vehicle, keys, wallet, and cell phone are accounted for.

Oregon Fireworks Sales Season Opens Today

Oregon law bans possession, use or sale of fireworks that fly, explode or travel more than six feet on the ground or 12 inches into the air.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - The Office of State Fire Marshal, Oregon fire service, natural resource agencies, Oregon fireworks wholesalers and safety experts encourage Oregonians to keep it legal and keep it safe when using fireworks.

Under Oregon law, officials may seize illegal fireworks and offenders may be fined up to $500 per violation or possibly arrested.

Willamette University Responds to Virus on Campus

The health department is in the process of confirming the nature of the virus and expect results later next week.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Willamette University is taking precautions in response to a virus brought onto campus by a Girls State participant, and the response is drawing praise from Marion County Health Department officials.

School officials say nineteen Girls State participants became ill earlier this week after one student, who was sick before she arrived at Willamette, brought the virus with her to campus.

(SILVERTON, Ore.) - Oregonians are going to get a one-time tax cut of about $300 for the average taxpayer, the so-called "kicker tax" before federal taxes. The top 1% with annual incomes averaging one million dollars - will get 20% and their checks will average over $14,000.

That is roughly equivalent to what it would cost to fund the education of 8,000 Oregon college students.
