White House Press Offices Evacuated

The vehicle that caused the alert is assigned to the Israeli delegation.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Blair House photo The press center across the street from the White House was evacuated on Monday after a bomb-sniffing dog prompted a security check of an Israeli vehicle, officials said.

The building was reopened about 90 minutes later.

The temporary office is around the corner from Blair House, where dignitaries often stay.

Men Returning from Wedding Involved in Fatal Crash

There is no evidence that alcohol was a contributing factor.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Marion County Sherrif fatal photo The investigation into Saturday night's fatal traffic crash that resulted in the death of a Marion County Sheriff's Deputy and another person is continuing.

Oscar Ascencio Amaya, age 19, from Woodburn and Marion County Sheriff's Office Deputy Kelly Fredinburg were killed in the crash.

One Dead in Fathers Day Crash South of Molalla

Alcohol is a possible contributing factor in this fatal crash.

(MOLALLA, Ore. ) - osp molalla crash One person died Sunday evening after losing control of the sport utility vehicle he was driving on Highway 213 south of Molalla and crashing into a power pole.

The pole was split and the vehicle came to rest on its top off the highway.

At approximately 8:30 PM a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Salvador Compean, age 51, from Scotts Mills, was southbound on Highway 213 at a high rate of speed near Wagon Wheel Road when it left the highway and struck a power pole.

Please make a note of these projects, and if your commute takes you through one of these workzones, PLEASE! slow down, and expect some delays.

Beginning Monday, 25th Street SE will be CLOSED to through traffic at Shelton Ditch in order to widen the existing bridge.

This work and street closure will continue into mid October.

Police Stop Dementia Patient Driving a Van

The patient with dementia left the Sheridan Care Facility in a staff member's van on Highway 18.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore. ) - osp highway 18 Oregon State Police and Yamhill County Sheriff's Office teamed together Saturday evening to stop a dementia patient driving a van that failed to stop for officers after nearly causing several head-on traffic crashes on Highway 18 west of McMinnville.

An OSP trooper used a tactical vehicle intervention maneuver to bring the van to a stop and the driver was evaluated at an area hospital then released to staff of the care facility where she was residing.

Deputy Kelly James Fredinburg joined the Marion County Sheriff's Office in August 2006.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - marion county crash The investigation into the fatal head-on traffic crash involving a Marion County Deputy Sheriff Saturday night on Highway 99E north of Gervais is continuing.

Deputy Kelly James Fredinburg, age 33, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

35 Killed in Afghanistan Bus Blast

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the blast, which reduced a police bus to a skeleton of black metal.

(KABUL, Afghanistan) - Afghan patrol photo In the deadliest attack in Afghanistan since the Taliban regime was toppled six years ago, a suicide bomber has killed 35 people and wounded dozens in Kabul.

Most of the dead were instructors going to work at the city's police academy.

Bystanders and five foreigners were also killed, according to police.

Marion County Deputy Sheriff, Father of Two, Killed in Car Crash

Deputy KELLY JAMES FREDINBURG, age 33, joined the Marion County Sheriff's Office in August 2006.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - fatal crash photo A Marion County Deputy Sheriff was killed and three others injured Saturday night in a two vehicle head-on crash on Highway 99E north of Gervais.

Preliminary investigation indicates the Deputy had his marked patrol car emergency lights and siren activated.

The patrol car crashed head-on with a northbound white Ford Crown Victoria.
